Angie Philips is a community organizer and human rights advocate in Nebraska. Born and raised in western rural Nebraska, Angie currently resides in Omaha with her husband and 3 kids. She was galvanized into action during the 2016 elections and has since helped organize numerous marches, rallies, and both humanitarian and political actions. In 2020, Angie placed second in an overcrowded democratic primary for the U.S. Senate where she proudly campaigned as a humanist and intersectional feminist. Angie’s activism currently centers around the Nebraska Progressive Legislative Study Group which she founded with friends in 2018. The Study Group is a grassroots group which aims to educate Nebraskans on our unique legislative system; the Unicameral. The Study Group also works to push progressive policy and elect progressive candidates across the state.
