What do you pray for? As you look at your life — your family, your career, your goals ... What are the things you ask God for? What matters enough to pray about? And what if someone else’s prayer disagrees with yours? What if you have no idea how or what to pray for what’s weighing on you? Is there a way to know God’s perspective on what you’re praying about?

The more we learn about living a life that aligns with the way Jesus lived, the more we realize how good it is — and how difficult it is! In our humanness, we could never hope to do or be all He has in mind for us ... It’s beyond us. If only He were walking beside us. But what if He’s actually given us everything we need?

If we choose to receive it, Jesus offers life and freedom and forgiveness. He steps in and builds our life, walks through it with us, and guides us to grow from our brokenness into wholeness again. Is that the end of the story? Or is there more to The Jesus Way than receiving for ourselves what He offers?

If we’re human, we hurt ... We get hurt by others, and we hurt others — both are pretty much a given. And we can choose to live our lives building hurt on top of hurt ... Carrying all that pain and allowing our sense of “justice” to keep us tethered to it. But there’s always another choice. What can we learn from The Jesus Way about navigating the inevitable hurts of life?

In every culture, there have always been the “haves” and the “have-nots” ...Those who rise to the top of the heap, and those who have no chance to. Jesus, though, was counter-cultural, in that He loved, served, and gave value to the marginalized around Him. His life — His Way — spoke good news to them. What about us? If we say we follow The Jesus Way, what news do we bring?

What kind of relationship does Jesus offer us? Because He’s God, we worship Him ... Because He’s a great leader, we serve Him ... Because He’s a teacher, a rabbi, we learn from Him, we imitate Him ... We study His life and His words; we receive our instruction, our encouragement, and we become better people because of it ... Is that as personal as it gets with Jesus?

Busy is a way of life. We fill the hours of the week doing good things — things that shape our lives and move us toward our goals. Habits that give structure to life. But what if our habits could make us better? What if we could be part of making a real, lasting difference in the world? What could change for good if we shifted the things we pursue and the habits we build?

The earliest Christians (translated “Christ-like ones”) were often called “followers of the Way.” What set them apart? What were they building? A culture ... A political mindset ... A moral code? And what about us ... What does it look like to follow The Jesus Way now? What exactly — and Who exactly — are we aligning our lives with? And what’s His endgame?

He is risen ... He is risen indeed! We celebrate this reality as the core of the Christian faith, the victory that assures us of our own redemption. But if we’re honest, when the celebration of the day fades, what lingers and often overtakes the hope is an uneasy sense that nothing has actually changed. What if Jesus were here to answer our doubts? What might He show us?

Our story in these days is one of brokenness. We’re living a level of brokenness that’s unprecedented ... Or is it? Join us for a service reflecting on the final steps of Jesus Christ’s journey through a broken world to bring wholeness to ours.
