What is God's purpose for money? Can money be used for good or for bad? What are some precautions that must be considered for the wealthy? 1) Money can't make you superior to others, 2) Money can't secure your future, 3) Money can provide an opportunity to enjoy God's goodness, 4) Money can provide an opportunity to do good to others, 5) Money can provide an opportunity to invest in eternity.

Give it All You’ve Got: the call in this passage is for Timothy to strive- to go hard in three areas 1) a lifestyle of Christ-likeness 2) true and right doctrine 3) his own confession and trust in Christ.

It’s That Important: the importance of this call is seen in the consequences of the alternative, in the fact that Christ spoke and lived and died for this and in who God is. This is weighty stuff. It is worth going hard for.

How should we relate to those in authority over us? How should we relate to unbelieving authorities.... or to believing authorities? Let's find out as we study 1 Timothy 6:1-2.

Elders are an important part of the church but why should we talk about elders at such a time as this? 1) The church is still at the center of what God is doing in the world. 2) God has given the elders an important part in His church. 3) We all have an important responsibility toward the elders; We have a roll in selecting elders and we have a roll in encouraging elders. How are we to relate to elders? 1) We are to honor them generously, 2) We are to accuse them cautiously, 3) We are to rebuke them publicly (when necessary) and 4) We are to affirm them slowly. We need to remember that Jesus is our ultimate leader, He is our Chief Shepherd.

The perfect father is our heavenly father, God Himself. In this message we will learn, 1) Our Father God acts to make us His children, 2) Our Father God wants an intimate relationship with us, 3) Our Father God generously provides for us, 4) Our Father God helps us become His perfect Son.

Moses is the author of Psalm 90. Moses tells us that it is important to number our days so that we can gain wisdom (Psalm 90:12). There are two points in this sermon, 1) Get Real and 2) Gain Wisdom. We must realize that 1) Our lives are short, 2) Our lives are fragile, 3) We are sinners before God. We gain wisdom as we 1) seek to be right with God, 2) prioritize what matters, 3) we make the most of the time God has given us, 4) we submit to God.

Paul has freedom, he knows his path ahead. Paul knows that he has two options: 1) To Live is Christ, 2) To Die is Gain. Paul will live for Christ, no matter what happens in his life. And if he were to die, he will be with Christ. Paul knows where he is going.

Is the Christian life worth it? Is it worth it to suffer for Christ. What did Paul say about this in Romans 8:14-25? 1) Creation tells us that it is worth it. 2) Our hearts tell us that it is worth it. All of this tells us that whatever sufferings we have to go through, future glory will make it all more that worth it.

How do we respond when we have lost everything? Let's see how Job responded to his loss. There are three layers of responding to loss: 1) Grief - Job's loss was real, the pain was real, 2) Submission - Job accepted what God had done, 3) Worship - Job worshiped God for who He is, not for what He had given Job. When God is all that we have then we realize that God is all we need.

What is the solution to trying to measure up? Here are two problems and one solution: 1) Comparison is slippery, 2) Circumstances are a facade, 3) Christ is the equalizer. When things don't make sense, draw near to God. Nearness to God is our only hope. We can depend on the finished work of Christ.
