In this sermon Paul encourages Timothy and his elders to be active to exhort their people to live according to the gospel. We are all members of one family. God is our father and others in the church are our brothers and sisters. We need to exhort and encourage those who are members of our "family."

Sometimes we feel like God doesn't hear our prayers .... or that He hears them but does not answer them. We think we are asking God for the right things but we hear .... nothing. Why is this? What should we do when God answers "No" to our prayers?

How should we pray? Should we plan our prayers or should they be spontaneous? Should we settle into a routine or should we be flexible? Should we pray individually or should we pray together? God gives us many examples of all types of prayer in His Word.

What should we say to God when we pray? How do we pray? What should we say to God when we pray? What does prayer look like? In this lesson we will look at 1) The Source of What We Pray, 2) Variety in What We Pray, 3) Priorities in What We Pray. We will also look at the acronym, ACTS.

Here are nine reasons why we pray. 1) The Joy of Being With God, 2) The Welcome We Receive, 3) The Depth of Our Need, 4) The Generosity of Our Father, 5) The Way God Uses Our Prayers, 6) The Change God Works in Us, 7) The Thanks God Receives, 8) The Forgiveness God Gives, 9) The Help the Spirit Provides

Here we have a new series on prayer. In this lesson we look at who we are not to pray to and who we are to pray to.

We can train ourselves in many areas but the most important is to train ourselves for Godliness. In this sermon we will learn 1) What is Godliness? 2) How Do We Train for Godliness? and 3) Why is it worth it? To train for Godliness we must 1) plan and make a commitment, 2) realize that it involves hard work, 3) realize that time is involved.

There are false teachers, even within the church, that would teach error. These teachers are insincere liars that spread error to get their own results. Their conscience is seared, they cannot feel. They depart from the faith, from the Gospel, and they devote themselves to the teachings of demons. God want us to enjoy the gifts that He has given us. We can then give Him thanks for these gifts.

The church matters. The church is important. So why does the church matter? 1) The church matters because of its relation to God. 2) The church matters because of its connection to the Truth.

God's faithfulness cannot be hindered. Even though Jonah ran from God, God was faithful toward Jonah. Jonah finally obeyed God. God then revealed to Jonah his compassion for the lost people of Ninevah.
