We are ordinary people, like the shepherds. The shepherds heard the Good News, Experienced the Good News and Spread the Good News. What was the Good News? 1. Jesus is the Savior, 2. Jesus is the Christ, 3. Jesus is the Lord. Merry Christmas!

Jesus was not famous or nobility when he was born. Jesus came as a humble servant, desiring to give his life for the people. Jesus had lowly roots, a lowly birth and a lowly life. Jesus even grew up as a carpenter. Jesus came for the lowly and became low for us. Jesus is a lowly savior.

Deacons are an important part of the structure of the church. The word Deacon means servant or attendant. They are to help meet the needs of those who are in the church so that the elders can be free to preach the word and to pray.

The task - overseer, elder, pastor, bishop. Overseers are a plurality of qualified men taking on a God given task of overseeing the church, teaching, modeling (be an example) and shepherding. God has called those who are above reproach, who have self control, who have a good home life, who hold to sound doctrine and who are humble.

Jesus showed compassion toward a woman who had an incurable illness for twelve years. This passage shows that Jesus is an Accessible Savior, Jesus is a Powerful Physician and Jesus is a Compassionate Friend.

Are men and women different? Does God make a distinction as to the roles that men and women have in the church? Why does God do this?

We are justified by faith and faith alone. The word, justification, can be defined as having no record of sin. Abraham was a man, just like us. Abraham was chosen by God, not on the basis of his own righteousness but on the basic of God's forgiveness. But how can God accept a sinner? God is righteous and just. He cannot dwell with sin. Abraham believed God and was justified by faith. But how was he justified? How can God who is righteous justify the sinner? God does this through imputation. Christ's righteousness is imputed to us and our sins are imputed to Christ.

God wants men to pray ... to use their voices to talk with God rather than for anger and dissension. God wants women to enhance their beauty but in such a way that it does not distract from worshiping God. Women need to be careful not to flaunt their wealth by dressing the way they dress. As we worship God, we need to be careful not to draw attention to ourselves but to glorify God by the way we speak and the way we dress.

We live in a world of toxic tribalism. God wants to reach all peoples with the message of the Gospel. In this message Tim speaks about 1) Prayer for all peoples, 2) Salvation for all peoples, 3) Ransom for all peoples and 4) Mission for all peoples.

Paul called himself the "Chief of Sinners." Why? Because he persecuted the church and therefore he persecuted Christ. In this sermon we will talk about the fact that we are all sinners. It is important to realize how much we have sinned against God so that we can appreciate the sacrifice He made to save us. Here Paul is taking us to 1) Trust Christ for eternal life, 2) endless wonder at God's grace, 3) Whole hearted worship and 4) Never let go of this gospel.
