Taking Jericho presents us with seven lessons regarding our efforts to experience the victory of Christ over sin in our lives and the world. God takes sin very seriously - therefore, we should, also. If you hope to see victory as revival in your heart, your community, or your country, then you'll have to take sin as seriously as God does. He does not bless sin with victory. Joshua learned that lesson at Jericho. So can we.

After God did amazing things to enable Israel to enter the Promised Land, He stopped them in their tracks and told them to be circumcised. Why? Because they needed to honor that miracle with definite commitment to Him before He would fight their battles coming up.

So it is with us. We follow God, ask for and see Him do miracles for us. But if we hope to see a revival in our churches and across America, we need to be circumcised in our hearts - visibly serving the LORD, not the world. It will be painful, costly, and well-rewarded.

Being a Christian means God has given you to His Church. It's not what YOU get that matters. You are there to GIVE. And encouragement is one of the key things you should give. We need it in these times, that's for sure.

Remembering the miracles is important in giving us confidence for the ones we'll be needing in the future - for our churches and for our families as much as for ourselves.

Today's rugged individualism is destroying families, communities, countries and churches. When consumerism overtakes a community, churches suffer because attenders have forgotten - or never learned - how to be a part of a community that looks out for one another.
