Introduction:  In Romans 5:20 Paul wrote, “Where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.” We see that truth illustrated in today’s study of Genesis 5-6.

Introduction:  Exodus 34:7 declares that God inflicts “the punishment of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.”  We see a demonstration of that truth in the story of the descendants of Cain and Seth.

Introduction:   Genesis 4 records another “first” in history – the first murder.  But more significantly, the story of Cain and Abel illustrates the danger of the most consequential mistake anyone can make: seeking God on our own terms rather than God’s terms.

Introduction:   In Romans 5:20 the apostle Paul wrote, “Where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.”  We see that truth in today’s passage which is the first mention of the gospel in the Bible.

Introduction:   Sin always results in consequences ― some are immediate while others are postponed. Today, we are going to discover how and why we continue to experience Adam and Eve’s original sin in the garden.

Introduction:   Some have called Genesis 3 the most important chapter in the Bible because it explains how the perfect world God created became the world we inhabit today.  As we continue to retrace our “spiritual roots,” we are going to discover the origin of sin in the world and in each of our lives.

Introduction:  Before God ever created the government or the church, He created the family.  Today, we are going to look at God’s blueprint for building the family.

Introduction:  As we have seen before, the Bible teaches we are living in “the last days:”  the last days of the world, the last days of America, and certainly the last days of our existence on earth.  How should we be living in these last days?

Introduction:  As we’ve seen in our study of Genesis, our past gives meaning to our present and direction for our future. That’s true for us individually, and as a church.

Introduction:   Last time we saw that evolution… (1) Seeks to explain; (2) Requires major changes; (3) Is a religious philosophy.
