Verses 1 and 7 of Romans chapter 1 form the standard epistolary greeting. But between these verses Paul includes one long parenthetical statement in which he defines six essential components of “the gospel of God.”

More than any other in the entire canon of Scripture, Romans has been used by God to awaken His church and direct the course of history. This morning we will introduce it and set the stage for our forthcoming study.

All Christians endure discipline. If our lives are absent of the LORD's discipline, then we are not loved. How should we respond to the Lord's discipline? Psalm 6 provides four truths.

The New Testament is abundantly clear on two truths as it pertains to this morning’s subject: (1) you will be unjustly wronged in this life; and (2) you must not return evil for evil. But how? Psalm 5 provides an answer.

All of us know prodigals, those who used to be among us but departed to run after false gods. How should we approach them? What should we do?

Psalm 3 enters the real world, and leads us back to bright confidence in the covenant promises of God.

We can rebel against God and face His wrath, or we can submit to Christ and be blessed. Either way Jesus is LORD!

Throughout Scripture, humanity is divided into two groups – the saved and the lost, the righteous and the wicked, the wise and the foolish, the sheep and the goats. These two groups tread two very different paths leading to two very different destinations. Psalm 1, the gateway to the Psalter, calls us to the way of God which leads to life.
