Unfortunately, the church in Corinth had some serious confusion about how they should operate in the church. Some things are getting out-of-hand and the worship services are becoming a bit chaotic. So, Paul is writing them to help them see God’s intent for order when they come together for worship.

Starting is easy, finishing is hard. In the Christian life, there are a lot of obstacles, some we know about and others we don’t, between here and eternity; and while this is true, it is not so much about how we start but about how well we finish.

What are you giving your life to? What are you "sold out" for? To give your life to something would mean that you are willing to make significant sacrifices to earn or to have that something.

In the first century there was a lot of debate about what Christians were allowed to do and not do. Even today, there is much debate about it. So, this morning, we are going to get to the truth about Christian freedom.

The culture in Corinth is a mess and that mess has made its way into the church. Rather than the church influencing the community around them, it seems the community is influencing the church.

In their culture, much like ours today, the church put a premium on marriage. In many ways, those who were single were considered second-class citizens or incomplete, and therefore treated like something was wrong with them.

Paul has a very different view of singleness.
