Our journey of walking with Jesus through the week leading up to the first Easter brings us to Thursday. It was a day that brings us some of the most important lessons from this week, especially during these uncertain times.
In his message, Brian mentioned a previous sermon, given on February 9, 2020, that gave details about how Jesus honored Judas as the Last Supper. You can find that sermon here: https://subspla.sh/gs3rgdj
The Wednesday before the first Easter was relatively quiet and still when compared to the other days of that week. Yet, it contains lessons we'd all do well to remember and one story that Jesus says should be told when ever the good news is proclaimed.
As part of this series, we are suggesting four books for those who want to dig in a little deeper to our topic. You can find information about those books, including descriptions, Brian's reviews of them, and how to find them at the following link: https://www.fcclouisville.org/post/recommended-books-for-the-week-that-changed-everything-sermon-series
The scripture used in this series was Matthew 26:1-16
Jesus spent the Tuesday before the first Easter teaching in the temple. While the lessons he gave are part of an ancient story, they speak a powerful message to modern believers.

Matthew 22:16-40
Romans 12:1
A reference was also made to Deuteronomy 25:5-10
On the Monday before the first Easter, we encounter a story about a fig tree and a temple. Neither one of which were bearing any fruit. Both of which have something important to say to modern believers and the churches in which they worship.

Scriptures used in this sermon include:
Mark 11:12-24
Jeremiah 7:5-15
There were two processions into Jerusalem on that first Palm Sunday. Each one with a very different message and purpose. While it may be almost two thousand years since they took place, an important question remains - which procession will you join?
