When we started Sammi's Picks, none of us realized that Monster High would be the most consistently beloved series that she would keep recommending! But sweet! 

Wow! An actual factual character study of a one-shot that's both worth reading AND gets me interested in checking out the Thundercats comics. Yes, that makes it weird when I pronounce Pumyra three different ways. Still a great read though. 

THUNDERCATS: PUMYRA #1, written by Ed Brisson, art by Alice Leclert, colors by Arancia Studio, with letters by Jeff Eckleberry.

There's always something healing about watching a reluctant heroine go through the equivalent of a Mr. Beast video to only get shoved into a warzone. Lovely. 

SPACE SCOUTS #1, written by Matt Kindt, with art, colors and letters with David Rubin.

It's just a simple sci-fi story about a boy and his robotic security dog that has no problem biting off arms to save his newfound - but reluctant - owner. Awesome. 

DEATH DOG #1 written by Bryce Ingman, art by Alan Robinson, colors by Paul Little, with letters by Rob Steen. 

Of course this is a treat and a half. The exasperated She-Hulk has to deal with being the ruler of a planet that really doesn't want to be ruled. It's fun, funny and action-packed goodness.

PLANET SHE-HULK #1, written by Stephanie Phillips, art by Aaron Kuder, colors by Sonia Oback, with letters by Joe Caramagna.

Excuse me, this should be called AlienS Vs. Captain America, but other than that a solid tale of facehugger-y goodness set in World War II. 

ALIEN VS. CAPTAIN AMERICA #1, written by Frank Tieri, art by Stefano Raffaele, colors by Keeraj Menon, with letters by Clayton Cowles.

Oddly maybe the best Marvel book I've read in the last couple of months. Not saying much since most of the books I've been reading from Marvel was from that lukewarm Age of Revelation thing. 

SPIRITS OF VIOLENCE #1, written by Sabir Pirzada, art by Paul Davidson, colors by Andrew Dalhouse, with letters by Travis Lanham.

Oh right, I almost forgot that DC KO was a thing that was going on. Are we surprised that Batman gets the first tie-in comic and that it's a story that's about the world and Batman's relation to it? Of course not. 

DC KO: KNIGHTFIGHT #1, written by Josh Williamson, art by Dan Mora, colors by Triona Farrell, with letters by Tom Napolitano.

So the Turtles all come back together after a 'lost year' and the stories made Sam want to cry. Yeah, that's typically the sign of a really good comic or a really bad one. I'm assuming the former. 

A sequel series to the cult classic Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow? AJ is extremely perturbed Sam sniped this review out from under him but hey, it's still awesome... I Think is what Sam's verdict is.
