Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Reading from the second chapter of the book of Colossians, Pastor Chris identifies for us four competing versions of "truth" that sow confusion in our society, detracting from the real truth of the Gospel. In Paul's letter, he identifies the distractions created through misplaced human philosophy, through confusion regarding Jewish law, through false spirituality practices, and through adding legalism to Christian beliefs. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 teaches us how to counter this confusion: "Test everything; hold on to the good."

Thank you for joining us for today's special worship service, held at the property where our church building soon will start construction! Pastor Chris shares a story from the end of 2 Samuel where King David erects an altar at God's direction to end a plague affecting that kingdom. Just as in the Bible story, our community is suffering in depression, anxiety, desperation, and sin. Just as in the story, God has called us and provided for us what we need to build a place of worship that God can use to heal and restore our community.

Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Pastor Marcio focuses us today on Matthew 16:13-17, a conversation between Jesus and His disciples about who people say He is. We each make choices in how we live and how we treat others based on our personal answer to this essential question. Pastor Marcio guides us to think about who we truly believe Jesus is, and about what choices we will make based on the Lordship of Jesus in our lives.

Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! As we continue our study of Colossians, Pastor Chris calls us to reflect on what is important to us, and how that has changed as we have matured. Paul called for his readers to consider the same question, and to choose to invest themselves in the immortal. We see in this passage three steps Paul gives us for how to become spiritually rich.

Thank you for joining us for today's worship service AND our church's seventh birthday! Pastor Chris continues our series "God's Story, Your Story" by guiding us to understand the profound grace in God's offer of redemption to us. Through sin in the Garden of Eden, death came into our world and enslaved us. We are not capable of buying our release from death, but Jesus Christ has redeemed each of us from death. The Hebrew word we translate as "redemption" literally translates as "to buy back." In this redemption, we receive forgiveness for our sins, restoration of our relationship with God, and security in our future after this earthly life.
