First Refusal Podcast

We're pleased to have actress and vocal coach Becca Jackson for our second episode. We discuss the joys of touring the United States in your 20s, why it’s not a good idea to have others write and produce scenes for your acting reel, how to act with your nervous system, why it can take ten years and number one Netflix show before anyone realizes you’re an actor, whether we’re on the cusp of an independent film renaissance, and more.

Welcome to the First Refusal Podcast! We're proud to kick off our first episode with actor Lyman Chen. In our far-reaching conversation, we discuss why it helps to be in the small casting folder, the challenges of balancing a budding acting career with the demands of a young family, the stock value of being multi-lingual, how taking a chance in an audition led to a story change on It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, the story of landing the role that had Lyman working shoulder to shoulder with Jack Nicholson, and more.
