Different organisations are today expected to participate in pro-Palestinian marches as part of International Solidarity Day with Palestine. Police in KwaZulu-Natal have launched a manhunt for at least five suspects who shot and killed four family members and injured another in Mfume, Amanzimtoti the early hours of Monday. This is a second incident at the same household in a space of a year. In 2022 the mother of house sustained gunshot wounds during a shooting, and the matter is still under investigation. Police are appealing to anyone who might have knowledge regarding the whereabouts of the suspects or information that can assist in the investigation. Over 100 miners are reportedly trapped underground at an Impala Platinum mine in the North West. The Incident allegedly occurred last night. The National Assembly will today vote on whether to suspend former Transport Minister Dipuo Peters for her alleged role in state capture at Prasa. This after Parliament's Joint Committee on Ethics and Members Interest found she breached the ethics code and recommended the sanction. United Behind lodged a complaint last year alleging Peters dismissed the Prasa board after it uncovered R14 billion in irregular expenditure and initiated investigations into corruption at the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa. The South African Jewish Board of Deputies have welcomed the release of two South Africans who were held hostage by Hamas. Sixty-four-year-old Aviva Siegel and 79-year-old Channah Peri were taken hostage when Palestinian militant group launched a surprise attack on Israel in October. Both women were released during a truce between Israel and Hamas in the ongoing conflict. Human Rights Watch say there is no political will to address the surge in alleged ethnically-driven killings in the Darfur region of Sudan. The ANC could lose its assets after another court defeat in a multi-million-rand elections campaign dispute. This after the Supreme Court of Appeal upheld a decision by the Gauteng High Court which found the ANC liable for over R100 million for election banners.
