President Cyril Ramaphosa has conveyed his condolences to the families of the people who were killed in the Soweto tavern shooting. Fifteen people have been declared dead after a shooting in the Nomzamo informal settlement in Orlando West, Soweto. It's believed that the perpetrators arrived at the tavern and shot indiscriminately. Four people were also reportedly killed in Katlehong and Pietermaritzburg in similar circumstances. The ANC's Interim Provincial Committee in the Free State has welcomed a court judgment that reaffirmed it as a constitutional structure in the province. The High Court in Bloemfontein has struck off the roll an urgent application to disband the Free State ANC Interim Provincial Committee. Three disgruntled ANC members in the Mangaung region questioned the status of the party's IPC, which was established in June last year to serve for nine months. Public Enterprise Minister Pravin Gordhan's public lecture on reforming state-owned entities was disrupted by a group of young men at the University of the Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg last night. Minister Gordhan was whisked away by security personnel after the group started chanting for him to go. The African Transformation Movement, ATM is giving acting Public Protector Advocate Kholeka Gcaleka 24 hours to withdraw her letter to the Court which withdraws her office's applications to reverse Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane's suspension. The Public Protector's office has indicated through a statement that it will no longer fund Mkhwebane's court challenge but will fund her defense for her impeachment hearings. Civil society organization, Democracy in Action and supporters of former president Jacob Zuma, will this morning hold a briefing addressing issues concerning South Africa's justice system.
