Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of Hillary Gardee - The daughter of former EFF secretary, Goodrich Gardee. The two suspects were arrested in Nelspruit at the weekend and will join the 39-year-old suspect who was arrested on Friday. The suspects are expected to appear in the Nelspruit Magistrate's court today. For the latest, Elvis Presslin spoke to Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli.

Civil rights organisation Afriforum is heading to the Supreme Court of Appeal next week to fight against the banning of the old South African flag. In 2019 the Equality Court declared that the gratuitous display of the apartheid flag amounts to hate speech. The Nelson Mandela Foundation took Afriforum to court after some Black Monday protesters displayed the old flag in 2017 during demonstrations against farm murders. The Nelson Mandela Foundation and the South African Human Rights Commission will oppose AfriForum's appeal application. The ANC in the Eastern Cape says it will not allow any delegate who is not fully vaccinated, to attend its 9th elective conference in East London this weekend. The party says this will be in the best interest of the fight against the spread of Covid-19. The Health Department was expected to publish the new Covid-19 regulations at midnight. Following the government's decision to lift the national state of disaster in April, the Act which was used to manage the disease for two years also fell away. Draft regulations under the National Health Act were then introduced to manage Covid-19 for 30 days. The 30-day period has now lapsed. Several organizations have indicated that they will go to court if the regulations are made law. Yesterday (Wednesday) the Western Cape high court heard a legal challenge by the non-profit organization, Action 4 Freedom, arguing that Health Minister Joe Phaahla had to provide three months for comments according to their interpretation of the law. Minister of Police Bheki Cele says they have activated a 72-hour activation plan to find the killer or killers of Hillary Gardee - The daughter of former Economic Freedom Fighters' Secretary-General, Godrich Gardee. Yesterday Minister Cele and National Commissioner General Sehlahle Masemola visited the crime scene where Hillary Gardee's body was found, outside Mbombela, Mpumalanga. Hillary Gardee was reported missing last week Friday. Mpumalanga police are investigating a case of murder. DA leader John Steenhuisen has been criticized for his fact-finding mission to war-torn Ukraine. Steenhuisen has embarked on a six-day tour of various parts of Ukraine to see first-hand, the effects of the Russian invasion. He says Russia's invasion of Ukraine has a knock-on effect globally. Music guru and businessman, Chicco Twala, is out on bail, following his arrest for allegedly assaulting and pointing a toy gun at a City Power technician. Twala was granted 2-thousand-rand bail by the Randburg Magistrate's Court yesterday. Twala was arrested after a case against him was opened at the Douglasdale Police Station for allegedly assaulting one of City Power's technicians responding to a power outage outside his home.
