Democratic Alliance member of parliament Manny de Freitas has laid criminal charges against Deputy Minister of Finance Sfiso Buthelezi, and former PRASA CEO Lucky Montana. Speaking in front of the Cape Town Police Station, Freitas says the charges emanate from the former Public Protector report in 2015 titled "Derailed" report. He says the charges relate to offences of financial mismanagement in the findings of the forensic reports commissioned by the National Treasury into PRASA contracts in 2012. The Steinhoff share price continued to collapse following the resignation of CEO Markus Jooste amid an accounting scandal. The furniture retailer lost more than 60 percent of its stock value yesterday and around 30 percent of the remaining value today. Steinhoff is listed in Johannesburg and in Frankfurt, Germany. Award winning actress Vatiswa Ndara has released her book titled 'I Am Because of You'. Known for her roles in shows such as Igazi, Generations and Home Affairs, Mdara says the book is a gratitude gesture to thank her fans for the love she's received over the years. The Metsimaholo IEC is reportedly considering a rerun in one voting station after conceding that using wrong ballot papers had prejudiced some parties. The elecotoral commission is now in the process of approving a re-run at a voting station and is now delaying the announcement of final results which were expected earlier this afternoon. The highly-anticipated Nelson Mandela Bay Council meeting is currently underway in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. Among the items in the agenda is the motion of no confidence against Mayor Athol Trollip and Speaker Jonathan Lawack. The motion has been tabled by Patriotic Alliance's Marlon Daniels and seconded by UDM's Mongameli Bobani. The PA also want the vacant position of Deputy Mayor filled while the coalition government consisting of DA,Cope and ACDP wants the position scrapped permanently. The EFF has indicated that it will vote against the motion to ensure that the ANC does not take over power in the metro.
