Recalling past triumphs will encourage you when the way ahead looks hard, strengthen you when you’re weary of the journey, make you brave. Psalm 124.

Sometimes the hardships go on and on. Some sicknesses don’t go away. Some problems can’t be solved. It can wear you down. If that’s where you’re at Psalm 123 is the song for you.

It's good to remember where you're going and why you're going there. Psalm 122 will help you do that.

Sometimes, on the way to the heavenly Jerusalem, God leads us through some dark valleys. Psalm 121 is a good song for when the going is tough.

In the book of Psalms, there’s a group of 15 called Songs of Ascents. We think they were sung by pilgrims making their way to Jerusalem for one of the annual Jewish feasts. Songs for the road. Songs to keep the spirits up. Good songs to know when your journey gets tough.

The first is Psalm 120.
