DAY 36: Exodus 19-21
What happens when a holy God draws near?
In today’s episode of Five Minute Bible, we come to Exodus 19–21, where redemption gives way to revelation. The people who were rescued from slavery are brought to a mountain—and God speaks.
These chapters confront us with a God who saves first and then reveals Himself. Fire, thunder, boundaries, commands. Not to renegotiate freedom, but to define what life with Him now requires. The question is no longer whether God can deliver, but whether His redeemed people can live in the presence of His holiness.
As you read today, keep this guiding question in mind:
Why does God speak law after salvation, not before it?
Listen for the tension between fear and invitation, distance and belonging, holiness and grace. The mountain shakes. The people tremble. And God makes it clear that redemption is not the end of the story—it is the beginning of obedience shaped by grace.
Read your Bible carefully, devotionally, and joyfully—and join us tomorrow as holiness collides with human weakness.
