Auburn City Clerk Chuck Mason says paving will begin on parts of Genesee and John Sts. in the next few days.

He says there will be some traffic delays and brief street closures, but he says the city will do its best to limit disruptions.

Marketing and Campaign Coordinator Julisa Stone tells us the items that are being collected at dropoff sites throughout the county from now until the countywide Day of Caring on August 4.

This is the fifth year of the personal care drive.

The program begins Tuesday at Lincoln Playground. Activities will include  Arts and crafts, Literacy activities, Field games, Playground time, Music lessons by Perform 4 Purpose, Culinary Arts, Dance lessons, Basketball, Tennis, and Court games. He says the pool would probably not operate were it not for the YMCA. He says the organization has experience running aquatic programs.

Mason says the agreement with the Auburn YMCA-WEIU is what makes it possible to operate the pool. He says the "Y" has the expertise to run successful aquatic programs.
