The state has mandated that jails provide MAT to inmates with addictions. 

The county is partnering with local social service agencies to implement the program, in addition to the counseling and other help it already provides.

The Sheriff's Department operates five boats on the major waterways of the county, including the Canal System, Cayuga Lake, Cross Lake, Owasco Lake, Skaneateles Lake, and Lake Ontario.

The Marine Patrol is staffed by part-time seasonal police officers and civilians who pair up on each patrol to not only perform law enforcement functions but to offer safety checks and assistance to the many who use our beautiful waterways for recreation or sport.

Money raised at this weekend's Party in the Park will go toward projects like Warm the Children and a water quality project on Owasco Lake.

She says the program has advanced from getting locally-grown foods into Seneca County schools into a more education-based program.

The state Department of Ag and Markets has renewed the program grant.

Tidball outlines the history of the program to get locally-grown foods into Seneca County schools, even before the Farm to School program officially began.

It will be held Wednesday night from 5-7 p.m. at Floral Hall, with tastings of local foods from the Farm to School and SNAP ED programs, as well as local grape juice and wine tastings.

He says the plan will complement the work of the Owasco Watershed Lake Association and the Cayuga County 9 Element plan in a combined effort to protect the water quality of Owasco Lake.

The town hired an engineering firm, that confirmed the state's findings.

There's no problem at the moment, but the town will keep an eye on the little-used bridge.

The plan includes upgrades to county buildings, improvements to the Penn Yan Airport runway and new vehicle purchases.

The toolkit will provide a blueprint for the best methods of keeping runoff from entering Seneca Lake.

The idea was suggested by Seneca Lake Watershed Steward Ian Smith.
