  • Watch Out For The Severance, Sonic!

Is that a golden ring in your pocket or did you just forget the world outside of your job? Well Big Grrls just you wait because Idris Elba is here to sweep you off your feet and spin your Tails right round. That's right, whether you are dancing the night away, working without any of your memories intact, or planning your bottomless mimosa brunch at The Olive Garden, the boys of Flame ON! have your severance covered!

Dear listeners, the time has come and the boys of Flame ON! are hopping through the gold ring to join the round table discussion about the month in pop culture! There is one less member though because Erik is celebrating his birthday during this episode, so be sure to send him all the birthday love! The first topic on the docket for discussion is the Apple TV+ sci-fi dramady, Severance. Created by Dan Erickson and brought to life through the help of Ben Stiller, this office based show detaches the workers from their trauma and shows what life could be like if we could really "leave it at the door" when we go to work. Is this show worth the watch? Listen in to find out! From there, the conversation shifts to the fast and the remodeled second installment in the video game/movie franchise, Sonic 2! Adding in fan favorites Tails and Knuckles (voiced by the ever so dreamy - and Taylor Swift cameo-ing - Idris Elba) the journey of everyone's favorite speedster hedgehog shows a bookend journey for Robotnik and brings him closer to the Eggman that you know from the video games. You also get to be baffled by the thought of having brunch at the Olive Garden, but that's a thought for another day! After a brief pause for station identification, it's time for you to Watch Out For The Big Grrls as Lizzo's new reality competition show gets you moving and dancing. Is this the feel good show you needed? Spoiler alert, yes it is! After that, it's time for the 1UPs where the boys share what is giving them life!

  • Yass Bish, Our Flag Means Death

Ahoy mateys! The high seas can be rough, but why not hop on the queerest ship this side of the seven seas and ride the waves with the boys of Flame ON!? Whether you're afraid of the Kraken or you're ready to take a few prisoners to show your fearlessness to your crew, the boys are ready to show you that their flag may have glitter on it, but their flag means death!

G'day mates! Spring is springing all around, but the boys of Flame ON! are ready to hop on their vessel and bring you a brand new episode! This time around the boys, headed by Captain Bryan, are ready to dive into the weird and wonderful world of HBO Max's new dark comedy series, Our Flag Means Death! From creator David Jenkins this show takes you back to the 18th century and places you on the ship of Captain Stede Bonnet and his merry band of pirates as they navigate the open seas. From hijacking, to comical aboriginal hijinks, to flag creating, to makeshift krakens this crew has everything you'd want to see but were too afraid to ask for! Is this the queerest show on television? Quite possibly! Are the boys upset by this? Not one bit! Will the boys abandon a life of luxury and nobility to run away and become pirates now? Well, that might be going to far, but they will be glad to share their thoughts on this show with you!

  • How Pam Met Your Father, The Batman

Is that a video cassette recorder? Did someone just drop off this unmarked VHS tape with an explicit recording of an intimate encounter? Well, this will not be the story to tell your kids about how you met their father, that's for sure! How about instead of that story, you just tell your kids that their father is... hmm... THE BATMAN!

Spring has sprung at Flame ON! studios and the boys are back to dish the dirt on a whole new set of pop culture topics! They kick off the episode with a deep dive into the super dark (not as in gritty, but in someone didn't pay the light bill dark) Year Two world of Matt Reeves' film, The Batman! Did this retelling live up to the hype? Did Robert Pattinson, Paul Dano, and Zoe Kravitz bring Batman, Riddler, and Catwoman to new levels? Find out what Erik and BeeJay thought! After that the boys dive into the anime world of Jujutsu Kaisen Zero. A fan favorite in Japan makes it's way to the United States and BeeJay will share his thoughts and take on this adaptation. After a short break for station identification, Bryan tackles the rock and roll world of Hulu's docuseries Pam & Tommy chronicling the biggest scandal to hit the web in the 90s, the leak of the Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee sex tape! Do Lily James and Sebastian Stan embody Pam and Tommy? Do you remember where you were when you found out about the leak? The boys remember! The final topic is Pat's review of the first season of the Hulu exclusive, How I Met Your Father! Being a huge fan of the original series, did this offshoot/sequel live up to the legacy of How I Met Your Mother? Find out straight from the bear's mouth! Before they sign off, the boys share their 1-Ups for the month!

  • NTWICGL: Don't Be A Rogan

Have you ever stopped to think about the media that you consume on a daily basis? How many content creators that you follow have a problematic history? Should you drop that creator? Should you cancel your Spotify account because of their support of Joe Rogan, or have they done enough to counteract their support of his behavior and views? That's a question better answered when the boys dive in on Now That's What I Call Gay Life.

The boys have brought back their series where they dive into the scandalous topics from sex and intimacy to the impact of the world on your media consumption... that's right, Now That's What I Call Gay Life has returned! BeeJay has brought Bryan and Pat back to the table to dive into problematic media and asks them how they deal with consuming said media. Do you back a boycott? Do you cancel your subscription to hit a corporation where it hurts the most, the pocketbook? How far do you dig into the creators that you follow? How do you determine the difference between problematic artists of yesteryear and today? Is death the point where you can start to enjoy the art of those that have been "canceled" today? The boys tackle all of these questions and then some as they talk about the disinformation and blatant racism of Joe Rogan as well as the support he received from Spotify as a platform as well as their attempt to course correct after the initial blowback. Was it enough? Tune in and find out what the boys think!

The star road path leads directly to a smattering of drag-tastic pop culture conversation from the star studded Haus of X!

Category is STARS, STATEMENTS, AND LEGENDS here at the Haus of X Ball. The air is crisp and the boys are excited to welcome a very special guest host to the fold! Direct from the top tier of their Patreon the boys are excited to welcome Joel as their first special guest host! Joel has the honor of kicking off the conversation this month and he's ready to breathe new life into the horror chatter as he dishes on the newest entry into the Scream franchise, SCR5AM! Did the film live up to the Wes Craven legacy? Did all of the original characters make it out alive? You'll need to listen in to find out the answers to all of these questions! From there, BeeJay takes on the next topic as he dives in deep to discus Nintendo's Direct presentation. What new games are already saved on BeeJay's Switch Shop and how many times can mix up Disney and Nintendo while discussing upcoming shop changes? You might be surprised! • In Flux With Doctor Who

Aw Flux, another series of Doctor Who is over, but what's that? Two of your favorite Flame On companions Bryan and BeeJay were agents of Division the whole time? GASP?!

Whether you're a seasoned Whovian who cut their teeth on jelly babies with the Fourth Doctor, or you're a newer Whovian who loves the Thirteenth Doctor and her timeless, childlike spirit, this season had a bit of everything for you. Bryan leads us through the ever-changing corridors of the season, starting with the secret lives of the Doctor that were revealed in the previous season and leading into an episode-by-episode breakdown with BeeJay providing his timey-wimey perspective on each cliffhanger ending. After the serpent-like story unfolds, the boys celebrate the new year by exploring the queer vibes that the New Year's special Eve of the Daleks brings to the Who-niverse. • Peacemaker Lights An Inferno

Look! Up in the sky! Is it a plane? Is it a UFO? Is it an eagle that's carrying lighter fluid in one claw and a book of matches in the other?!? Wait, that can't be right! You don't need to have the gift of sight like Destiny to mimic the intro credits dance moves, just load up HBO Max and let Peacemaker make it all better!

The calendar page has flipped and the year number has increased, but the one thing you can rely on is your favorite podcasting mates are back for a brand new pop culture round up! The boys have cleaned up the glitter from the floor of their New Year's parties, pulled a miraculous Peacemaker-style reovery from their hangovers, and they are ready to get down to business - spilling the tea on their favorite pop culture they've absorbed this month! The show kicks off with Erik sharing his thoughts on the Andrew Garfield film that took Netflix by storm - Tick Tick Boom. Showcasing the life of Rent creator Jonathon Larson, this film gives you all the feels and deserves all the awards. From there Bryan takes you to the halls of Archive 81, one of the newest hits from Netflix and shows that with the right theme, your podcast can also make for entertaining television! After leaving the archives, Pat switches streaming services and chats about the newest release from the twisted mind of James Gunn, the DCEU television show, Peacemaker! Does John Cena's character from The Suicide Squad find redemption, or do we just give him a pass for that fantastic ass? Listen in to find out! The final topic has BeeJay taking the boys to Krakoa for the final piece of Jonathan Hickman's Dawn of X storyline - Inferno! Did Mystique and Destiny burn it all to the ground? We'll never tell (just kidding there's lots of spoilers here)! To close out the show, the boys share their 1-UPs!

  • No Way Home For Spiderman

Whether it's spinning webs with the greatest of ease, helping the citizens of New York City, or knowing that with great power also comes great responsibility, Spiderman always knows where his heart is. However, when the fabric of reality starts to tear apart, will our friendly neighborhood wall crawler find brotherhood in three of him, or will he find that for the first time there might actually be no way home?

It's the start of a brand new year and the boys have put on their sling rings and grabbed their geometry textbooks to navigate through the mirror dimension to converge at the round table to discuss the topic that was on everyone's lips at the end of 2021, Marvel and Sony's third entry into the Tom Holland trilogy, Spiderman: No Way Home! From Spidey's plea to the (former) Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange to his multiple costume changes, to the lack of storyline for Sandman and The Lizard, the boys will break down their favorite parts, and their less favorite parts, to give their hot takes on whether or not this film was worth the wait. They also throw out wild conjecture and speculation on whether there really is no way home for Peter after he makes the sacrifices he needs to in order to keep those he loves safe... or is it just a ploy to keep us hooked and waiting for more (ok, that one is easy... of course we'll be coming back for more)! To wrap up the episode the boys share their flame ratings!

  • Resurrections Of A Year Gone By

Is that a Pym tech arrow flying by or just a glitch in the Matrix? Don't let the revelations or the resurrections of the past year slow you down as you make your way to the ball drop and the change of the year to 2022! Whether your life has been Encanto-fied or you need a new perspective, it's a whole new year waiting for you today!

So this is Christm... wait, no, we're past Christmas and ready for the ball to drop as the boys ring in 2022! The past year has both felt like its flown by AND been the longest three years ever, but that means that there is plenty of pop culture to dish about at our round table. Kicking the episode off is BeeJay's review of the new Disney animated film, Encanto! From its loveable characters (even the ones you don't talk about) to the melodious soundtrack by Lin Manuel Miranda to Alan Tudyk's role as a bird (because of course he's a bird), you'll find out what made this film so enchanting to our boys. From there the conversation turns to the digital when Erik changes his code and dives into The Wachowski's latest installment to The Matrix trilio... wait... there can't be four films in a trilogy... until NOW! The boys dish on The Matrix Resurrections and if it lives up to its predecessors, if it's worth the hype, and if the Catrix might have been a better fit. After that, Pat takes you to the planet Eternia for the Kevin Smith helmed continuation of Masters of the Universe: Revelations. Can a show where (spoiler alert!) He-Man is killed in the first episode live up to the expectations thrust upon it like the Sword of Power? Listen in to find out! After a brief pause for station identification, Bryan rounds out the month in pop culture with a deep dive into the world of Hawk Guy... nope, that can't be right. Oh, it's Hawkeye! Marvel TV is back with close out the year with another stellar outing and the boys are ready to see the resurrections of multiple characters from shows gone by (and maybe a reimagining that we didn't see coming!). To close out the show, the boys chat about their picks for some of the favorite pop culture items of 2021! It's been an amazing year and we thank you for being on this journey with us! Have a safe and happy new year everyone!

  • A Universe of Queens

Sashay, shante, panther on the runway! Grab your favorite cha cha heels, eyeshadow palette, and of course, a wig and get ready to dive into the worldwide - wait, no - UNIVERSE full of queens! From Canada, to The UK, to Italy, to the London stage for the first ever all drag queen singing competition, it's all covered here!

Hey girl, hey!! The boys have donned their best wigs and their highest heels because as this year comes to an end, they are ready to discuss and dish on the plethora of drag that has been bestowed upon the universe! From season three of RuPaul's Drag Race UK, to season two of Canada's Drag Race, to the sickening and sweet cast of RuPaul's Drag Race season 14 they've got opinions on it all. Have the international iterations hosted by the legendary RuPaul become too Americanized? Do the rotating hosts and presenters of the versions where Ru isn't involved change the tone too hectic? Did the right queen win their respective season? Is Vanessa L. Williams an absolute national treasure? (spoiler alert - yes, yes she is) These queens of the universe have shown that while drag is on almost every day of the week, it's true that the world has not his peak saturation and there is room for more fabulousness! The conversation ends with a look forward at the fourteen queens joining the kingdom on January 7th as we find out how a single candy bar can change a queen's fate!
