    Matty Lansdown is a scientist, nutritionist and an Emotionaland Binge Eating Specialist that works with weight loss and self confidence for women.

    Starting out in the field of nutritional epigenetics andspending several years working in hospitals as part of a disease research team, Matty believes that most disease and illness is not due to bad luck but as a result of poor nutrition and lifestyle choices. 

    Matty’s extensive experience allowed him to uncover thedeeper challenge people have with health which isn’t about calories or kale, but in fact mindset and behaviour change. The people he works with know what they need to do, they know how to do it, but they’re just not doing it, andthey don’t know why. Having been on his own personal development journey, Matty is now super-passionate about showing people how to level up their health so that healthy habits and the best food choices are easy and natural, not through force or willpower but through true transformation.

  • 19 - 6 Steps to Sanity in Perimenopause

    In today's episode I take all that I have learned from my interviews and experience with perimenopause so far and condense it into 6 steps that you can take to start feeling better now.


    Chicken Wing Recipe:

    • 2 pounds chicken wings and drumettes
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
    • salt and pepper, to taste


    Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Mix all ingredients in a small bowl. Pat dry the chicken wings and toss around in the bowl to ensure that they are evenly covered in seasoning. Arrange the chicken wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the oven at 425 degrees for 50 minutes flipping the wings over halfway through baking. Remove from oven when both sides are crispy and enjoy!

    In today's episode I interview Dr. Christine Hart Kress about what to do when you are struggling in perimenopause, navigating with your own provider and when to seek care somewhere else, and most importantly, not giving up when you aren't feeling as well as you could.

    Dr. Christine A. Hart Kress, DNP, APRN, WHNP-BC, MSCP, is a seasoned healthcare leader with over 30 years of experience in women’s health. Retired, Colonel Kress served 27 years in the Air Force as a Nurse Practitioner and Healthcare Executive.  Board-certified as a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, she has advanced training in hormone prescribing, sexual medicine and the care of breast cancer survivors. Dr Hart Kress’ passion lies in transforming access to high-quality care for women in midlife and menopause. She is the CEO and owner of a specialized telemedicine practice focused on comprehensive midlife and menopause care. She is an active member of National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH), serves on the Advocacy Committee and the conference planning committee for the joint NPWH and International Society for the Study of Sexual Health in Women virtual course.  Dr Hart Kress has co-authored several key resources, including the NPWH’s Scope of Practice and Health and Healthcare of Midlife Women position statements. She has received numerous accolades for her clinical excellence and leadership, including the Air Force Medical Service Advanced Practice Nurse of the Year and Tucson’s Fabulous 50 Nurses awards. A published author in the field of women’s health, Dr. Hart Kress has been featured on multiple podcasts and blogs, sharing her expertise and insights. She also serves on two boards, the Bite Me Cancer Foundation and the Empower Scholarship Fund Board.  Dr. Hart Kress is also the co-host of the podcast, The Dusty Muffins.

  • 17 - Mental Health Impact of Perimenopause with Dr. Julie Rashkis

    In today's episode I interview Dr. Julie Rashkis about mental health and perimenopause. We talk about the cognitive and mood issues that are common during this time and what you can do if you are struggling.

    Dr. Julie Rashkis is a clinical psychologist with nearly two decades of experience supporting adults through pivotal life transitions.  She is licensed to practice telehealth in California, Wisconsin and 42 additional states through PsyPact.   She is the founder of Therapy for Midlife, a teletherapy practice where she works with individuals and couples to address the emotional and relational challenges of midlife, including the often-overlooked impact perimenopause has on mental health. 

    She graduated with honors from University of California, Davis and earned her Doctor of Psychology degree from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California.  Her early clinical training included a doctoral internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where she worked with patients recovering from traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries.  That formative experience sparked a lasting interest in the intersection of mental and physical health. For over a decade, she worked in psychiatric, women's health, emergency and genetics departments addressing the mental health concerns of individuals and couples.  There, she regularly collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to support patients and families, further shaping her whole-person approach to care. Today, Dr. Rashkis brings that integrated perspective to patients in her private practice as well as acting as a consultant and clinical team member for health care organizations working to expand access to behavioral health services .

    She is a member of The Menopause Society and several international organizations focused on women’s sexual health, underscoring her commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care.

    Amanda Nayfield, PT, DPT, WCS is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, pelvic health specialist, and the founder of Connect NW Physical Therapy in Bellingham, WA. She is dedicated to helping individuals with a wide range of pelvic health and orthopedic concerns, with a passion for improving the quality of care in these fields.

     In 2017, Amanda founded Connect NW Physical Therapy to move beyond the traditional PT care model, creating a clinic that offers hour-long sessions and integrates pelvic health and orthopedic expertise for optimal patient outcomes. She has built a team of highly skilled clinicians within a culture of professional growth, mentorship, and work-life balance.     In today's episode I interview Dr. Aoife O'Sullivan. We talk about how perimenopause impacts our mental health and she shares her insights and her own personal experience.

    Dr. Aoife O'Sullivan is a board-certified Family Physician and Menopause Society Certified Physician dedicated to empowering women through their midlife health journeys. Originally trained in Ireland, she completed medical school and a family medicine residency there before moving to the United States in 2004, where she completed a second residency at the University of Maryland.

    With a diverse clinical background spanning general medicine, HIV care, gender-affirming care, urgent care, and emergency medicine, she brings extensive experience in outpatient care to each of her patients. 

    As an educator and speaker, she is committed to advancing physician understanding of menopause and women’s sexual health. She lectures to the residencies, medical practices, medical associations and local businesses here in Oregon and Washington. A frequent podcast guest and active contributor to midlife women’s health research, she is also the founder of Portland Menopause Doc, a telemedicine practice offering personalized care rooted in preventative health, informed consent, and shared decision-making, caring for patients in Oregon and Washington. She is a co-founder of The Portland Menopause Collective, a group of four physicians dedicated to the education of other physicians and women in the community on women's midlife care.  Along with two other clinicians ,she co-founded  The Dusty Muffins, a women's health podcast giving women the knowledge they need to empower themselves for the second half of their lives.
