🎧Welcome to episode 31 of our podcast Flashlights in the Dark. “How Culture impact our value as women”
We are Juliette, Leticia, Xochitl and Lorena four women from different parts of the world looking forward to support your self-development journey.
In this episode, we are commemorating Women’s International day. We have a commitment with everywomen in life. We believe that women from all walks of life come together, overcoming cultural and ethnic differences, to commemorate their battle for peace, justice, equality and the freedom to exist in our own skin, to live our dreams, goals and desires. International Women’s Day is about valuing ourselves and encourage us to develop our full potential.
In this episode we share with you how culture can impact our own value and perceptions as women, since infancy we grew with certain messages on how we should behave, how we should look, or live our lives in order to belong, to be accepted, recognize, or loved. We really had a good time sharing our own journey, and also our experiences supporting other women in their own healing path.

🎧Welcome to episode 29th of our podcast Flashlights in the Dark.
In this episode we will talk about: boundaries.
Healthy boundary setting is a lifetime skill and that means it takes practice.
It is a way to protect our inner voice, our wishes, needs and desires. Is not to hurt anyone. We believe that setting clear, flexible and healthy boundaries is a an act of daily self love. Setting clear boundaries is a form of self-care and self love, and it ensures that you are saying “yes” and “no” to the appropriate things.
There are different type of boundaries
Physical Boundaries
Material Boundaries
Mental boundaries
Time Boundaries
Emotional boundaries
Boundaries is not something that comes up naturally is something that we learned growing in our home, parents family education, culture. We learned through observing our parents establish boundaries in their relationships and in how they relate to us respecting our physical boundaries, emotional boundaries , mental boundaries etcetera.

When you are working your ass off, and things get worse and worse. You are entering a state of mind of panic and also experiencing physical and emotional pain. The feeling of loosing control over all most everything. Is so scary that the months or years before we go crazy to avoid that point… but it does not work. Because we try to fix it with the same tools as how we got into it. Your body becomes your enemy although it’s your friend… it’s only trying to give you signs or signals to change, to look for solutions in other directions.
🔥Welcome in the world of BURN-OUT!
🎧Welcome to episode 28 of our podcast Flashlights in the Dark.
Mostly the trigger of collapsing is work-oriented, but you can also get burn-out in your marriage / partnership or parenthood. What most people discover during their recovery of a BO is that they before “The Collapsing” they were UNCONSCIOUS about the way they were behaving, so much as an autopilot. This behavior makes us very very tired, we are spilling our energy in the wrong way, we are burning ourselves out…
SO WHAT TO DO?
To look at what we can do to RECOVER / HEALING we have to look at Job’s 6 phases of a burn out:
1️⃣Keeping it Going
2️⃣Extremely Exhausted
3️⃣The Collapse
4️⃣Meeting Yourself
5️⃣Transforming Yourself
6️⃣Firmly in Flow

In this new episode of Flashlights in the Dark, we talk about reinventing yourself while living abroad.
How can you adapt yourself to a new country and culture?
Can you find new resources in you and have compassion with yourself?
Maybe you feel stuck, isolated, not belonging to the new culture.
How can you support yourself in this journey of living abroad?
Culture is deeply rooted in us. It is a collective programming learned in our childhood and it makes us belong to our family, to a group.
Then, when you move abroad, suddenly our natural response doesn't work anymore. We need to start from scratch again.
We have to learn about new values, a new language, navigating in an unfamiliar culture and having to re-establish the basics.
The biggest challenge is not only to get familiar with the new culture, but to get to know yourself.
To discover how your culture has impact on your own thinking and behaviour.
Remember, our cultural layers are often unvisible to us.
Living in between cultures means to get your tools ready and open up for a new experience.
Grab your headphones and listen to this micro-shot of consciousness.
An interesting topic with meaningful insights for those living or the ones that have lived abroad.

Am I co-dependant?
How can I know?
If so, how can I get rid of?
In this new episode of Flashlights in the Dark, we talked about Co-Dependency, an emotional condition that affects individuals' ability to have a healthy relationship with others.
As humans, we learned about co - dependency since we are babies, as our life depended on the care of those who raised us, then, we grew up and we developed different patterns that now define our life.
A profound topic with meaningful insights.
Grab your headphones and listen to this micro-shot of consciousness.

The easiest to recognize a Midlife Crisis is when you look back at it ten to twenty years later. The trigger to go into a deep crisis can be for anyone very different. The most significant similarity is that ‘this painful, unexpected and devastating period’ has split your life from the time before, and the time after it.
When you are lucky a Midlife Crisis encourages you to connect with, and to explore more, your inner treasure. Unfortunately for a lot people this is to difficult or they do not know how to get there. They focus on looking for treasures outside themselves.
In this 25th episode of Flashlights in the Dark we shine our lights on the Midlife Crisis. Curious about what we discovered…? Plug in your earphones and find it out!

How to use anger as a resource.
Anger is an emotion with a lot of energy. With a lot of life and power.
Emotion means "emovere” which means to move, to agitate.
How about if we use anger to take action, to keep moving.
Many times we try to avoid our anger or suppress it.
But if we don't look at our own anger, we'll project it on others.
So let the anger surprise you. Use it to talk and communicate.
Be clear about your limits. Say what you want and what you don't want.
Simple, clear and effective.
Just integrate anger in your life, and use it as a motor to move on.
+ Self-worth is a path, not a destination
+ Feelings of dependency and need for control and power limit self-worth.
+ Self-worth is deeply rooted in our belief systems and perception. If we want to develop more self-worth, we need to change our perception.
+ Do you give yourself permission for mistakes? For actions instead of judgments?
+ Can you surrender to whatever life offers you? Can you give value to every step of your process, regardless the reaction of others? (critics or applause, failure or success)
In episode 23 we talk about self-worth.
