We're back with a summer episode on how the left outside of Mélenchon seems to be out of options. A lot of parties, therefore, are adopting to this by throwing in the towel and grappling with the inevitability of supporting him, despite approximately none of them thinking he has any chance of winning.

Resistance to the inevitability still stands in the Socialist Party though, where ambitious goals of doubling their 2022 candidate's 1.7% score percolate.

Behind it all looms François Hollande, who's just waiting for the moment to strike.
