  • A rollercoaster ride in Anaheim, what to do about José Berríos, and more!

That was certainly a wild ride.

The Blue Jays concluded their season-opening 10-game road trip by taking two of three games from the Angels in Los Angeles and we took a look back at all the good stuff and the bad stuff from the weekend with Adam from Blue Jays Today.

We talked about Chris Bassitt's rebound start, Matt Chapman's impossibly good start to the season, and how Kevin Kiermaier has quickly endeared himself on his new team. We also talked about what's next for José Berríos after another poor start. After that, we took a look ahead to Tuesday's Home Opener and Toronto's series against the basement-dwelling Detroit Tigers.

  • Good vibes only as the Blue Jays take three of four from the Royals

    That's more like it!

After an up-and-down opening weekend in St. Louis, the Blue Jays rolled into Kansas City and won three of four games against the basement-dwelling Royals.

We talked about the Yusei Kikuchi Revenge Tour getting off to a strong start and Alek Manoah rebounding with a very strong outing. We also talked about how Vladdy looks as locked in as ever, Matt Chapman putting up one of the strongest starts to a season ever by a Blue Jay, and how Daulton Varsho has immediately become a fan favourite.

  • An up-and-down Opening Weekend in St. Louis!

Opening Weekend certainly gave us a lot to talk about!

The Blue Jays took just one of three from the Cardinals in St. Louis to kick off the 2023 season, winning a rollercoaster opener by a score of 10-9 before dropping Saturday and Sunday's games by scores of 4-1 and 9-4.

We talked about Alek Manoah's rough outing, Kevin Gausman still being BABIP'd to death, Chris Bassitt struggling with PitchCom, and some of the puzzling decisions that John Schneider made. We also talked about the new-look offence and how the Blue Jays scored 15 runs over three games without hitting a home run.

After that, we took a look ahead to the team's upcoming series in Kansas City against a Royals squad that scored just four runs in their first series of the season.

  • Here are 23 predictions for the 2023 MLB season

With Opening Day for the 2023 Major League Baseball season right around the corner, we put our heads together and came up with 23 predictions for the 2023 season.

We talked about Kevin Gausman getting normal BABIP luck, Yusei Kikuchi carrying his Grapefruit League success into the season, which teams around the American League are going to break out and fall off, Gerrit Cole having to deal with Toronto's new bullpens during warm-ups, the Angels trading Shohei Ohtani ahead of the trade deadline, Joey Votto making a homecoming, and a whole bunch more!

After that, we also took a look at the predictions that people came up with on Twitter, which ranged from excellent, like the Blue Jays winning 100 games and sweeping major awards, to terrifying, like the Boston Red Sox having a repeat of 2013.

  • The Dog Days of Spring Training

We've reached the Dog Days of Spring Training where everybody is just waiting for the season to start.

We talked about Canada's performance at the World Baseball Classic and the team's heartbreaking loss to Mexico that ultimately ended their tournament. We also talked about Edwin Diaz's season-ending injury and the response from many that this tournament isn't worth the risk.

After that, we circled back to Dunedin and made some observations about what's happened in Grapefruit League play thus far, including Yusei Kikuchi benefitting from the pitch clock, Alek Manoah's velocity, and Addison Barger making a name for himself.

  • Spring Training games! The World Baseball Classic! And more!

Actual baseball games are right around the corner!

The Toronto Blue Jays will make their Grapefruit League debut on Saturday when Yusei Kikuchi takes the mound against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The World Baseball Classic is also starting in a few weeks, so it'll be baseball galore.

We talked about the interesting things to watch for in Spring Training and also how the WBC could be improved. We also looked back at some leftover topics from the off-season, such as next year's Hall of Fame ballot and Major League Baseball expansion and realignment.

  • Chatting with Blue Jays prospect Adam Macko

We welcomed a special guest to the show today, as Adam Macko joined us to chat about his career.

Macko talked about the experience of being traded to a new team and what that entire process looks like and his first impression of the Blue Jays organization. He also talked about his unique story of growing up in Slovakia and getting into baseball and moving to Canada. After that, Macko told us which pitchers he looked up to growing up and who he tries to emulate on the mound.

  • Chad Green! No arbitration for Bo! New dimensions!

We're back! It's the middle of February but there's quite a bit of baseball stuff to talk about.

We talked about Bo Bichette coming to terms on a three-year contract, ultimately avoiding arbitration drama each winter before he can walk into free agency. We also went over the addition of Chad Green, who inked one of the most unique contracts you'll ever see, along with the team's decision to release Matt Gage. We also spoke about the new dimensions at Rogers Centre, which will obviously benefit some of the Jays sluggers but could also be bad news for a few of their arms that have a tendency to give up the long ball. We wrapped up the show by discussing the changes being made to the Sportsnet broadcast team.

  • Brandon Belt is here! Julian Merryweather is gone!

We've got transactions to talk about!

The Blue Jays had a flurry of moves this week, as they added two-time World Series winner Brandon Belt, traded for depth starter Zach Thompson, and designated Julian Merryweather for assignment to make room.

We talked about the addition of Belt and how his presence further helps make the team's lineup a little less predictable. We also talked about the departure of Merryweather and those amazing two saves he had in April of 2021 that made us all believe. After that, we took a look around the league and talked about the most recent Boston Red Sox disaster along with the Carlos Correa saga coming to an end.

  • Daulton Varsho trade reaction!

Merry Christmas, everyone! We've got a transaction to talk about!

The Blue Jays finally pulled the trigger on the catcher-for-outfielder trade we'd all been speculating about for weeks, as they sent Gabriel Moreno and Lourdes Gurriel to the Arizona Diamondbacks for Daulton Varsho.

Me and BK took a look at what the Blue Jays are getting in Varsho, whether he's worth what they're giving up in Moreno and Gurriel, and what might happen next.
