Out of all the movies out there, we were given a recommendation of an "out-of-this-world" experience with Earth Girls Are Easy. We learned some important life lessons from it too. Things like shaving poodles in your past could end up helping you if you ever come upon some extremely hairy aliens. If you want to sound like you're speaking an alien language you can just read the words backwards. And even some terrible relationship advice from Valarie.
Adding onto our areas of expertise, we're looking into producing some exquisite meals this episode because who doesn't love cream cheese and mayo sandwiches with a side of boneless hotdogs? Maybe our wish can come true if we can hold our breath for 7 miles through a tunnel alongside Plucky, Hamton, and his family. Alas, this likely won't happen because it'll get lost in our notes due to the chaotic nature of this movie and episode.
We are traveling to the past via a bullet train in Japan, where we buzz right by The Ghost of Tsushima and make our final stop at the The Last Samurai in the 1870s. Tom Cruise looks a little heftier in this film (or is it his clothing?), he gets a bit a goofy, and even forgets to put on his helmet when going into battle. And if you can't tell already, we're not the greatest at remembering character names and will revert back to the actor's name instead... you may need to hop over to the IMDB page if you've not already seen the film!
Everybody's dead??? Mark Wahlburg delivers some... uhh... lines. Yup, he delivers some lines in this movie. Did we say they were on time? No. Did we say he sounded super concerned always? You know what, we'll say yes to that. Throughout our episode, we discuss what universes songs are in, the best way to reheat pizza, and how cool mood rings are. To round it all out, we let you know the correct way to pronounce Zooey Deschanel's last name in this week's episode of The Happening.
In this episode we explore the Dollar Tree version of Hellboy. Spoiler alert, it is not the 2004 version! This reboot from 2019 suffered from an identity crisis much like the main character. Still we found ourselves chuckling at some of the more absurd parts like Nazi killers wearing 3D glasses and a chicken-legged house. Find out why this movie was a Box Office Bust that even David Harbour couldn't save.
We watched Coherence this week and our minds were blown! Along with discussing alternative realities, we also have a hot debate on which dog name is the most popular in this episode. We wish we rolled ourselves into a universe where we named all the actors correctly. Unfortunately, we find ourselves in a timeline where our research and notes got scrambled so that is not the case. We are issuing a correction here -- Nicholas Brendon played Mike and Maury Sterling played Kevin. Hurry up and listen before the comet scrambles us again!
This classic horror starring STEVEN McQueen had us singing for at least a week. We were very impressed with the quality of the visual effects and enjoyed how lazy they were when they named characters. The Blob left us questioning if whoever cast this actually knew what a teenager looked like, but all in all this one was a hoot-and-a-holler!
