THE PLOT: ! FIour boys hit the Highlands to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Awards, and very quickly become lost (they tear up their map to make a massive joint). Not only that, things get worse when they realise they’re being hunted by the Duke of Edinburgh himself (Eddie Izzard in a creepy skin mask). What follows is some bomb-making with explosive hash, hallucinogenic rabbit shit-eating, and tripped-out farmers raving to hip hop music.Throw in some violence, biting social commentary and class warfare, and you’ve got yourself an absolute cult classic.

The film is ridiculous and incredibly funny as it sounds, It’s dark, laugh-out-loud hilarious, completely insane and politically astute. All in all, it’s a high-energy trip (in more ways than one). An absolute must-see.

MEET Frances, this weeks guest! This week I'm joined by Director/Writer Rob Savage and actors Jemma Moore, Caroline Ward and Haley Bishop. They made a incredible horror in lockdown, which has captured all of our attention.

‘Host’ is a new kind of horror movie! It was shot during quarantine at a number of actors’ homes and adheres to social distancing rules with inventive ways to deliver the scares, stunts and surprises. The actors operated their own cameras, pulled off their own practical effects and lit their own scenes whilst Savage directed them remotely.

The Plot : Six friends get together during lockdown for their weekly zoom call. It’s Haley’s turn to organise an activity and instead of a quiz, she’s arranged for a Medium to conduct a séance. Bored and feeling mischievous, Jemma decides to have some fun and invents a story about a boy in her school who hanged himself. However, her prank gives license for a demonic presence to cross over, taking on the guise of the boy in Jemma’s made-up story. The friends begin noticing strange occurrences in their homes as the evil presence begins to make itself known, and they soon realise that they might not survive the night.

Aml came to our attention as a young teen in Noel Clark's critically acclaimed 'Kidulthood' which then had him appearing in successful TV shows like 'The Bill' and eventually landed him in L.A. He most recently appeared in Michaela Coel's awesome show 'I May Destroy You' and starring in Idris Elba's film Yardie. Aml also runs his own production company and is currently working on his debut feature film that he has co-written, directed and will star in. We chatted about all things film including making the move to L.A and the pressures of sustaining a career in the industry.

Michael Elkin – who started as an actor – knows it all too well, but unlike many others, it never discouraged him from pursuing his passion. Today, he is a director of a full-on feature film and quite possibly the last that the great Rutger Hauer (‘Blade Runner’, ‘The Hitchhiker’) completed before his passing.

It's a film about how to best friends end up becoming enemies due to a tragedy and the pressure society put on them. Our conversation delves into 'cancel culture', the indie film scene, Black Lives Matter movement and the need to see real stories on the big screen by diverse talented people. This week's guest Col3trane, a rising star in British Soul and R&B is one to watch. He was raised in London to American parents A musician inspired by icons like Prince, Marvin Gaye alongside the rawness of Hip-Hop heavyweights like Nas and Biggie. He has quietly been making noise underground, starting first on Soundcloud capturing a community of music tastemakers, people that search high and low for sounds that most times the mainstream ignores.

The release of his Tsarina' mixtape solidified him as a voice and writer to not ignore. Col3trane showcased his many moods and sounds by dropping a project that wasn't easy to define or put in a particular genre box. Early comparisons to Frank Ocean started to create a buzz and had him recording in both the U.S and the U.K. 

He has spent the last few years honing his touring skills, creating music and writing with some of the freshest names including Kehlani and Miraa May. Cole also dropped his 'Breathing Out Of Time' mixtape followed by the 'Heroine' EP, featuring collabs with Goldlink, Raye, DJDS and Sega Bodega. He additionally appeared on songs with Sinead Harnett, Ebenezer and most recently Kiana Lede. The boy has been busy and lockdown hasn't stopped him still creating as we found out when we chatted.

The music industry can be a tough place to not only be seen or heard but also navigate. 

MEET this week's podcast guest Brit Ebenezer who has managed to find ways to succeed as an indie artist.

Born in London, one of three kids raised by his single Nigerian mum, Ebe, as he is known by his friends, watched his mum hustle, deal with almost being deported and even experience homelessness. He says, "Growing up with nothing, really gives you perspective. Before we got a house, we were sleeping in telephone boxes in bin bags, we didn't have any money. My mum is the biggest OG I know, my dad wasn't in my life for the longest as they deported him before I was born. My mum raised me and my older brother. I love my mum to bits, she has suffered so much just to put food on our table and look after her kids.
