Drummer Aesop Dekker shares his story for the first time, reflecting on his formative years in Florida. He recounts growing up in Hollywood, FL, and his early music experiences, including his time in the band SLA and White Riot, which later evolved into Fuckboyz, also known as the F Boyz. Aesop relocated to California in the late 1980s, further establishing himself in the music scene by playing in notable bands such as: Hickey, Agalloch, Extremity, Khôrada, Vhol, Worm Ouroboros, Nostalgist, Ludicra, and more! Join us, as founder, bassist, and vocalist Libby Bentley and drummer, Carmen "Monoxide" Marrero tell the story of South Florida garage/punk band, Morbid Opera. Morbid Opera began their journey in the early 1980's South Florida punk rock scene. Libby Bentley (bass/vocals) and Lisa Hodapp (vocals) (1961-2010) founded Morbid Opera, and were the two core and consistent band members throughout the band's existence. Morbid Opera has three tracks included on the seminal and regional 1983 Florida hardcore/punk compilation titled, "We Can't Help It If We're From Florida". In 2017, a compilation was released titled "Collection", remastering 16 tracks in the Morbid Opera catalog. [Recorded: 05/12/24]
