Inspired by someone once telling Cole that cowboys and farmers were becoming a “dying breed”, the phrase stayed with him, ultimately becoming the catalyst for a song that pays tribute to the people and way of life he grew up around.

"I wanted people to read No More Country Songs and think, 'What's he talking about?' Then they realise it's actually a country love song. It's about being so happy you've run out of heartbreak to write about. There's a bit of humour in it, but it's completely genuine."
