Ep.12: Amber Pitch Slap

Howdy, Ya'll! 🤠☕🌠

Today, I'm trying hard to be whoever I am supposed to be but it has been rough since a spoke broke on my rear wheel. Who am I if I can't ride my mountain bike? That's right, my faithful steed, Chickensaurus-Rex broke my heart yesterday. Or it was that diabolical bike shop in Fort Worth that installed an inferior part. Who's to know? What I am now -- is grounded. Nothing more than a feeble, ground-pounding peasant. LOL! Just kidding. I started this journey hiking, then trail running, then doing that half hike-half run shuffle we call trekking in adventure racing. And then settled on rucking which is hiking with 30-60 lbs of weight for 4 miles or so -- for fun! But this broken spoke mix goes out to my true love -- mountain biking -- who will always have a place in my heart. Forever. HA! Who am I kidding? Chickensaurus-Rex goes into the shop today and will be fixed by Monday! She lives to ride again!! Later suckers!! (No worries -- I still love my shoe and boot people!) Go, go, GO!

I'm not going to tell you who to vote for because you already know who you need to vote for. Instead, I've created an Election Mix that you can use while you wait your turn in line. Ep.10: Paleo Powerhouse

Howdy, Ya'll! 🤠☕

Today is one of those days where I didn't want to go outside. I wanted to stay inside, eat junk food, and watch YouTube all day. But if I skip Monday's ride, I'll most likely skip Tuesday's ride too. Then, before you know it, I've skipped half the week and now it's Thursday! Geesh! This is the theme of today's mix: doing it even when you don't want to. I get that you need to listen to your body and rest when it needs it. However, I've found that my body -- and those dark voices in my head -- can trick you into believing you need rest when what you really need is to hit the trail and knock the dirt off your dinosaur bones! Ep.09: Evolutionary Bottleneck

Howdy, Ya'll! 🤠☕

Today, I had to put myself in someone else's shoes after getting into a big argument with a best friend and realizing that I was the one in the wrong. What do about it? You do the only thing you can do, you ask for forgiveness! That is the lesson for today -- if something is bothering you don't keep it inside. Talk about it now! Second, if you do get into a fight and say something dumb it's not the end of the world. Once the hurt feelings calm down you can work it out but only if you realize that the only person you can control is YOU! Finally, and most importantly, when you do mess up (and you will), try saying you're sorry. It goes a long way.

Today, I'm reminded of what Marcus Aurelius said about dwelling on problems: "Your days are numbered, and if you don't clear the clouds from your mind now you may never have another chance." What does that mean? You cannot dwell on failures and be dissatisfied with today because you may not have a tomorrow. You have to live your life as if every moment were your last. In other words, be thankful for today because tomorrow is not guaranteed. So if you woke up on this side of the dirt today I want you to put on your Big Toothy Grin and remind yourself to let that stuff go and get back to living in the moment. Are you with me? Then let's let that stuff go and get to it.
