  • A Favour Repaid
    Show #170, Release date: 22. May, 2011
In keeping with the tradition of featuring a Wall gig for every city I’ve seen it in, as promised, here’s the big show from London.  This was my ninth time seeing The Wall and by far the most special.  It was the night David Gilmour returned the favor to Roger.  As things would have it, Nick Mason was also there and joined in.  The surviving members of Pink Floyd, reunited on stage for the first time since Live8.  It was amazing!  Roger and the band sounded tight and the sound is incredible!  I had an excellent location to record from and I’m pleased to present it to you.
Live at the O2 Arena, London, U.K., 12. May 2011.  With Special guests… David Gilmour and Nick Mason!
A huge special thanks to Jeff (aka Ravingandrooling).  Photo taken from my seat with an iPhone3Gs.  Section B3, Row A, Seat 50

  • Brain Damaged In The U.K.
    Show #169, Release date: 19. May, 2011
Fresh on the heels of my trip to the U.K., here’s the latest podcast.  This was sort of an experiment by doing a few breaks (voicing) on the road from various Floyd related locations in London and Cambridge.  There are a few kinks I’ll need to work out if I decide to do another location podcast (my shyness being one of them) but all in all… it came out well.
I had an amazing time and especially enjoyed meeting so many long time listeners for the first time.  Oh and as usual now, highlight below if you want to see the playlist.  Enjoy and please mind the gap!

A little overdue but on purpose.  It’s 4/20!  I thought it would be cool to feature just a few of Floyd’s best stoner tunes.  So roll one up and enjoy this one anywhere. • At The Budokan
    Show #167, Release date: 14. March, 2011
To my friends and listeners of Japan,  My heart goes out to all of you.  I feel great sadness after seeing all the devastation.  If you can hear this podcast, I hope it will bring you some comfort and a little escape from it all, at least for a brief moment. For this, it’s at the Budokan, Tokyo, Japan, 2. March, 1988.  (I say the 4th in the podcast by mistake, sorry)
We start things off with a live cut from Roger’s last visit to New Zealand.  As you may recall, they too had an earthquake recently.

  • All In All
    Show #164, Release date: 21. December, 2010
I can’t think of a better way to end the year with one last Wall podcast.  This time it’s rather different.  Each song is taken from a different city, in order of the North American tour.  All except for shows from cities previously featured here on Brain Damage. Those are; Toronto, Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, Hartford, and New York.  I hope you dig it.  Here’s to you… and have a safe and happy holiday season!

  • Let’s all have a clap!
    Show #163, Release date: 2. December, 2010
Okay, it’s been a long time no hear… It’s podcast time.  This was my seventh show and hopefully I’ll get to see more but for now this will be the last of ‘The Wall Concert Series’.  For this, its the 6th of November from New York’s Madison Square Garden. It was my first time at MSG and I thought it was interesting (and annoying) how venue’s concession people were hawking during the show.  You may notice a few “ice cold beers here” and the refreshing sound of one or two being cracked open. The Band sounded great and it comes across nicely but it did need a little doctoring up.  Enjoy and thanks for being so patient.

  • A Few Things
    Show #162, Release date: 31. October, 2010
Happy Halloween!  Continuing on with ‘The Wall Concert Series’, from Hartford, CT., 15th October at the XL center.  Its a very compact venue with a concert seating capacity of 16,606.  The venue was formally known as The Hartford Civic Center and was the former home of The Hartford Whalers.  Pink Floyd played here back in 1987.
This was my 6th time seeing the show.  Not many recordings exist of this night and this is one of only two I know of.  I explain a few things about the recording and I also provide three easy steps for getting that perfect recording.
If you think you might be interested in recording concerts and for more information on equipment and what to do, please visit The Sound Professionals.
A big thank you to RogFan for the recording.

  • The Wall – Live In Cleveland
    Show #161, Release date: 19. October, 2010
Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, OH, 28. September 2010.  I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that this is by far the best recording to date from this tour.  Bold statement?  Hear for yourself and please comment.  I can’t stop listening to it.
A big thank you to Ravingandrooling for a tremendous capture of a show and for entrusting me with the original files.  With those files, I was able to lift the sound during the quieter moments, enhance the space,EQ, and apply few other tricks.  I use the car test.  If it sounds good in a car, it’s going to sound good through anything.  Tested and approved… doctored up for supersound!
    Dig it.
