The pairs event at Skate Canada was much stronger at the top than last week's event, and we discuss how much we loved all of the top four teams, how James and Cipres might be able to avoid a time violation in the free skate, and our annoyance with falls receiving positive GOE and what could be done about it.

We continue our Skate Canada recap with our impressions of seeing the dance event live, including our dismay at how little the teams practiced their Tango Romantica patterns, our horror over the number of falls, and our impressions of which programs were most enjoyed by the audience at Place Bell.

We're home from Skate Canada, and have tons to discuss after watching all of the practices and events live in person! There was a smaller field in the Skate America Ladies event than we had hoped for, but we discuss some really amazing programs, some disastrous ones, and how tough it is to regain confidence after a bad skate, particularly when skaters have back-to-back competitions.

We continue our recap of the first Grand Prix of the season with the Men's event at Skate America, and discuss how ill fitting costumes can detract from the effect of detailed movements in a program, why under rotated jumps are more costly this season than before, and recap some Kiss and Cry etiquette.

The Grand Prix is officially here, and we break down the entirety of the first Ice Dance event of the series, including controversial skate colours, problematic and confusing voice overs, and the genius of Christopher Dean's choreography.

The Junior Grand Prix season has come to an end, and we recap the emotional final competition, including how much stress skaters close to making the final are under, how hard it is to skate fast while in hold, and Alexandra Trusova's history-making freeskate.
