Having started out making his living playing around New Orleans with the Big Mess Blues Band and the Deltabilly Boys, he moved to Boston in 2005, fleeing from the flooding caused by Hurricane Katrina. There he met the members of the band Morphine, who had disbanded after the sudden death of Morphine frontman Mark Sandman. He joined forces with them to form the band that would eventually become Vapors Of Morphine, and they have a new album out called Fear & Fantasy, available at www.vaporsofmorphine.com
