Fly Penguins Fly Episode 35: The Penguins visit the Anaheim Ducks. Follow @flypenguinsfly on Instagram!

The Penguins look to sweep the season series against Anaheim, the first of which games ended in a 1-0 Pittsburgh shutout on home ice.

I'm joined in the studio by Richard Cole, former goalie for the London Legion, die-hard Penguins fan, and British ex-pat! Enjoy our chat, in which we touched on: The return of Geno Malkin... How advanced statistics have so far successfully foretold the fortunes of the team at this stage in the regular season... and all things PENGUINS.

Having racked up 10 consecutive wins, the Penguins go into Dallas hoping to even up the regular-season series against the franchise formerly known as the Minnesota North Stars.  The Stars, neither in a playoff position nor a wildcard spot, are coming off an impressive shootout win on home ice, against the 2nd place Florida Panthers.

Fly Penguins Fly Episode 33: The Penguins visit the Philadelphia Flyers. Follow @flypenguinsfly on Instagram!

This episode kicks off with my new Penguins-themed song, "Head Of The Snake (Funny Mistake)."  This is a ballad that chronicles St. Louis Blues' head coach Craig Berube's weird decision not to inform his players that poking the bear would be a bad idea. It kicks off with a sample of Berube's pregame interview from before Wednesday's epic matchup between the Pens and Blues, and proceeds to paint a heartfelt musical portrait of a man in a moment of regret: Berube. Again, ya just don't go provoking #87, do ya?

As for TONIGHT: It's Jarry vs. Hart tonight in the city of... cool old buildings and great music venues! This game is ONLY available on ESPN+, Hulu, and the respective clubs' radio feeds, namely 105.9theX FM, the Penguins Radio Network!

Special guest on tonight's episode is Flyers Mike, a friend and die hard Flyers fan who was kind enough to grant us an interview for this edition of the podcast. Enjoy the convo!

Let's see if the boys in Black and Gold can up this win streak to ..... I don't even wanna say it.

ENJOY tonight's game versus the Flyers and of COURSE:

Fly Penguins Fly Episode 32: The Penguins get visit from the St. Louis Blues. Follow @flypenguinsfly on Instagram!

Coming off their big Winter Classic win last weekend, the Blues are in Pittsburgh to try and show Penguins fans precisely why St. Louis are currently sitting atop the Central Division. Jordan Binnington figures to be in net for the 2019 Stanley Cup Champion club, on the three year anniversary - to the day - of when he was called up from San Antonio (thank you to Jeff Marek for that factoid!)

For their part, the Penguins hope to extend their winning streak to 9, starting Casey DeSmith in goal and bringing some fresh faces back from COVID protocol: Kasperi Kapanen and Teddy Blueger should BOTH be on the ice this evening...

Enjoy the game and of COURSE:

Fly Penguins Fly Episode 29: "Postponed: PIT@TOR" Follow @flypenguinsfly on Instagram!

While we don't get to watch Pens at Leafs this evening, it WAS a big day for number seventy-one. For the first time since Pittsburgh's untimely exit from the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Evgeni Malkin took to the podium and addressed the press at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry, PA following the team's practice.

I decided to take the podcast up the hill to the local ice rink. I think it worked out nicely, enjoy the wintery ambiance.

More from me on Friday as the Pens (don't) play the Ottowa Senators. I'll be happy to bring you another podcast, and THRILLED that it'll be the LAST of the "Postponed" series. Join me, then it'll be just two more sleeps until ...PENGUINS HOCKEY!

Enjoy the other games around the league this week, and of COURSE:

What do you do when you make a Game-Day Pittsburgh Penguins Podcast... but there's no Penguins game being played? Well, you look at who their opponent is. When it's the Flyers, that makes you think of your new GM, former Flyers' goalie Ron Hextall. I strung together a mini-mosaic of infamous Ron Hextall goalie moments... Enjoy!

Fly Penguins Fly Episode 26: "Postponed NJD@PIT." Follow @flypenguinsfly on Instagram!

It's real simple, folks: The NHL postponed tonight's game, but no one said anything about podcasts.

So I'm on the job, bringing you a brand new podcast right on time for an empty 7pm puck drop slot.  I'll discuss the state of the team coming off a victory in NJ, with some audio-rich moments I promise will get you excited for our next game. We'll hear from HCMS about his feelings on the likely cancellation of NHL'ers going to Beijing, as well as a bit of audio from goalie Tristan Jarry.

Next episode will drop at previously-scheduled puck drop time of the (postponed) PHI@PIT game.

I'm so grateful you tuned in for this episode. Enjoy your night and OF COURSE:
