Focus on Gaming

Twenty-five years ago, Nintendo launched a new generation of colour handhelds, more powerful than the Game Boy, yet still compatible with the original. Classics like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past helped sell millions of units in the early 2000s.

Duncan has been gleefully taking down Milla Jovovich in Hitman, while Martin has been enjoying the charms of Lady Dimitrescu in games we've been playing.

We wrap up this episode with a round of “Name the Platform of the Worst Games on Metacritic.” Catch all our episodes at www.FocusOnGaming.co.uk, and don’t forget to like, subscribe, and leave a review!

Duncan reviews Planet of Lana II, Gabby's Dollhouse, TCG Shop Simulator and why he's stopped playing High on Life 2, for now!

In this episode, David Oghia joins us to showcase the Vectrex Mini—a compact version of the 1982 console that used vectors instead of pixels for its distinctive gameplay. The Mini updates the classic with a modern screen, USB ports, and even Wi-Fi, all while keeping that unmistakable 80's vibe. We also chat about other retro tech favorites and get a peek at David’s impressive collection. Find out more at Vectrex.com

Happy New Year!

As we kick off 2026, it’s exciting to think about what the next 12 months have in store for gaming.

The big one on everyone’s radar is GTA 6, and if it really does launch this year, developers everywhere will be trying to steer clear of that release window.

We’ve also got Valve diving into more hardware, IO Interactive bringing us the ever-suave James Bond, and hopefully the long-awaited return of Fable—just a few of the highlights to look forward to in 2026!

Duncan (by himself this episode!), has played the Bratz game on Game Pass, mainly so you don't have to, as it is terrible. On a better note, Ultimate Sheep Raccoon redeemed Game Pass, with its party-chaos-on-a-bike gameplay.
