1. The spokesperson of the White House National Security Council said on Monday the U.S. President Joe Biden and S.Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol ordered their militaries to plan for an “effective coordinated response to a range of scenarios, including nuclear use by North Korea”.
2. According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance on Tuesday, South Korea will apply a tax credit rate of up to 25% on facility investment in the chip industry to boost its competitiveness amid global economic slowdown.
3. As of Monday, 1 out of every 5 travelers into South Korea from China tested positive for COVID-19, following mandatory PCR testing upon arrival. According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, those from Hong Kong and Macao will also be required to get a PCR or a quick antigen test before boarding flights to S. Korea starting from Saturday.
