1.The Corruption Investigation Office for High Ranking Officials on Friday suspended its attempt to detain impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol over his short-lived imposition of martial law, following a long standoff between investigators and the Presidential Security Service.
2.The Constitutional Court on Friday began its second preparatory hearing for President Yoon Suk Yeol’s impeachment trial. The Constitutional Court is to hold a formal trial on January 14th.
3.According to data released by the Interior Ministry on Friday, the number of babies born in South Korea increased in 2024 for the first time in nine years, reaching 242-thousand-334.
