1. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on Wednesday delivered a 43-minute address in English to a joint meeting of the U.S. Congress, emphasizing the cooperation of South Korea and the United States. During his address he uttered the word, “freedom”, 46 times.
2. The National Assembly on Thursday passed motions designating two special investigation proposals as "fast-track" bills. One of them is on bribery suspicions involving the Dae Jang-dong development scandal and the other is on stock manipulation allegations involving first lady Kim Keon Hee.
3. According to data from Statistics Korea on Thursday, South Korea’s industrial output grew 1.6% on-month in March, and the nation’s retail sales increased 0.4% over the same period.
