1. South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol said during a cabinet meeting on Tuesday that improving ties between South Korea and Japan will open the door to a new future where the two, along with the US, could bolster the current coalition working on North Korea’s denuclearization and the path to regional peace.

The Seoul Central District Court on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant for Kang Rae-gu, a key suspect in an election bribery scandal, who has been accused of distributing cash envelopes and providing illegal funds to the main opposition Democratic Party members before the party chair election in May 2021.
3. Russia has been holding muted Victory Day celebrations on Tuesday, with many mass events canceled due to security concerns after a possible Ukrainian sabotage.
