1. South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff confirmed that North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles toward the East Sea on Thursday. In response, the national security advisors of South Korea, the U.S., and Japan issued a joint statement condemning North Korea's missile launches.
2. According to the latest economic trends report released by the Ministry of Economy and Finance on Friday, exports fell by over 15 percent on-year. However, despite global economic uncertainties, consumer and business sentiment improved and price increases slowed.
3. A Korean woman who was 8 months pregnant was killed in what appears to have been a random shooting in downtown Seattle this week.
