1. According to first deputy chief of the Office for Government Policy Coordination Park Ku-yeon on Thursday, the South Korean government will announce its own analysis of Japan's plan to discharge contaminated water from the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant on Friday.
2. President Yoon Suk Yeol on Thursday named Yoo In-chon, an actor who served as culture minister during the former Lee Myung-bak administration as his special adviser for culture and sports in a reshuffle.
3. According to the Financial Services Commision on Wednesday, the South Korean government will lower barriers in the banking sector to stimulate competition. DGB Daegu Bank has expressed its intentions to apply for a change of status to a nationwide commercial bank to become Korea’s first new commercial bank in 31 years.
