1.The National Assembly on Wednesday passed several bills aimed to improve people’s livelihoods, marking the first time the rival parties showed bipartisan support in advancing legislation since the 22nd Assembly started its four-year term in late May. Among the bills passed was a nursing act that calls for nurses to play greater roles.
2.The Finance Ministry announced Wednesday that the government will supply a record amount of 170-thousand tons of high-demand foodstuffs and provide a discount worth 70 billion won, or roughly 52 million U.S. dollars, for the upcoming Chuseok holiday.
3.The Korean National Police Agency said Tuesday that it will start an intensive seven-month crackdown against deepfake sex crimes starting Wednesday, as the number of cases increased in recent years.
