1. Seoul’s Foreign Ministry said that the top nuclear envoys of South Korea, the U.S. and Japan are set to meet in Indonesia on Monday to discuss North Korea’s nuclear and missile developments.
2. South Korea’s Finance Minister Choo Kyung-ho said Monday the tax cut on fuel consumption will be extended through December amid concerns about inflationary pressure caused by the Israel-Hamas conflict. The discount was originally set to expire at the end of October.
3. In an interview with CBS 60 Minutes on Sunday, U.S. President Joe Biden said any move by Israel to occupy Gaza would be a “big mistake.” President Biden added that he believes the Hamas militant group must be eliminated, but supports the creation of a humanitarian corridor.
