1. President Yoon Suk Yeol nominated {이관섭}Lee Kwan-sup, the director of national policy at the presidential office, as his new chief of staff. According to sources on Thursday, Lee will be replacing outgoing presidential chief of staff {김대기}Kim Dae-ki.
2. South Korea on Thursday struck a free trade agreement with a group of Arab countries known as the Gulf Cooperation Council. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said the move is expected to strengthen Seoul's export competitiveness and boost energy security.
3. Japan's NHK reported Thursday that South Korea, China, and Japan are considering holding a summit after February next year to discuss North Korea and pursue regional stability.
