  • The Cosmic Glue: Jesus Holds Everything Together

    Send us Fan Mail

The mystery of God’s will isn’t meant to leave us confused. It’s intended to give us hope. In this episode, we explore Ephesians 1:8-10, where Paul reveals that God is working through Christ to gather everything back together again.
When sin entered the world, it broke everything: our relationships, creation itself, and even our connection with God. But through Jesus, God is healing what’s been shattered. If you’ve ever felt abandoned, broken, or lost in the chaos of life, this conversation will remind you that your story isn’t random and your wounds aren’t wasted.

God doesn’t cause your pain, but He promises to redeem it. Like Joseph told his brothers who sold him into slavery, “You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good.” Even the mistakes you’ve made can’t derail His plan. Philippians 1:6 assures us that the One who began a good work in you will finish it.

This episode will help you see Jesus as the One holding all things together, the “cosmic glue” when your world feels like it’s falling apart. Whether you’re wrestling with the question of why suffering exists or wondering if God has a plan for you, you’ll find strength in the truth that His grace is greater than your circumstances.

If this message encourages you, share it with someone who needs the reminder that God is still in control and His plan is to restore all things in Christ.

Fully Forgiven: The Freedom of God’s Grace

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by guilt, wondering if God can truly forgive you? That voice of condemnation isn’t from God. It comes from a misunderstanding of what forgiveness in Christ truly means.

In this episode of Followed by Mercy, we continue in Ephesians 1:7 and discover that forgiveness isn’t God tolerating us. It’s God declaring us clean and whole. Forgiveness isn’t stingy or reluctant. It flows out of the riches of His grace. While redemption speaks of freedom from slavery, forgiveness goes even further by obliterating guilt. The sins you keep replaying in your mind have no record in heaven.

We’ll confront the lie of performance-based religion, which says God forgave you once, but now it’s up to you to stay clean. Instead, you’ll hear the truth: your forgiveness isn’t based on your feelings or your performance. It’s based on Christ’s finished work on the cross.

Through real stories and timeless wisdom, including the struggles of Adoniram Judson and the courage of Corrie Ten Boom, you’ll be reminded that forgiven people become forgivers and that the freedom you long for is already yours in Jesus.

Join us for this life-giving conversation and lay down the burden of guilt and shame. You are entirely, completely, and permanently forgiven.

Redeemed and Free: Living from Your True Identity in Christ

What if the most dangerous lie you’ve ever believed isn’t about money, success, or culture, but about who you are?

In this episode of Followed by Mercy, we take a deep look at Ephesians 1:7 and the life-changing reality of redemption through Christ’s blood. Using the vivid picture of Roman slave markets, we uncover how Jesus stepped into the marketplace of sin, paid the ultimate price with His blood, and declared us eternally free. The chains aren’t just broken; they’re gone.

You’ll discover why the cross measures your worth to God, why being “blessed” isn’t something to chase but something you already are, and how your identity as a redeemed child of God changes everything about the way you live.

Too many of us keep sneaking back into cages that Christ already opened. However, the truth is that the door is wide open, the ransom has been paid, and you are free.

Join us for this robust conversation and be reminded: your identity isn’t self-made, it’s blood-bought.

Subscribe to Followed by Mercy so you won’t miss tomorrow’s episode, where we’ll continue in Ephesians 1:7 and discover what true forgiveness means for our daily walk.

  • Ephesians 1: How God Makes Us Holy, Not How We Make Ourselves Holy

    Send us Fan Mail

What if everything you thought about holiness was backwards? What if, instead of working hard to become holy enough for God, you discovered He has already made you holy?

In this episode, David Gardner joins us for a powerful conversation through Ephesians 1. Together, we uncover the life-changing truth that holiness isn’t earned by performance but given as a gift in Christ. From being blessed with every spiritual blessing, to being adopted as sons and daughters, to being accepted in the Beloved, Paul’s words reveal the depth of God’s grace and the freedom of living from identity rather than for it.

David reminds us that God’s holiness comes before we practice holiness. He chose us to be holy and blameless before Him in love. That means we live holy lives not to earn His favor but as a natural response to His goodness.

This shift changes everything. We’re not striving for approval, but resting in the approval God has already given us. Like children reflecting the traits of their Father, we grow in Christ because of who we already are in Him.

If you’re ready to step out of the exhausting cycle of religious performance and into the joy of grace, this conversation will encourage and refresh you. Share this message with someone who needs to know: holiness is not a goal you strive for, it’s a gift you’ve already received in Christ.

  • God doesn't just tolerate you. He delights in you.

    Send us Fan Mail

Have you ever felt like God just tolerates you? Like you’ve been let into the party but told to stay quietly in the corner? In this episode, we uncover the life-changing truth of Ephesians 1:6: we are “accepted in the Beloved.”

God doesn’t simply permit your presence. He delights in you. His love doesn’t keep you at arm’s length but draws you into the circle of joy shared between Father, Son, and Spirit.

Through real-life stories of radical forgiveness, the Morris family adopting the man who killed their son, Corrie ten Boom extending grace to her former Nazi guard, we see glimpses of God’s heart. Like Mephibosheth at King David’s table, we’re given a permanent seat at God’s feast. And, like Hudson Taylor, we learn that the Christian life is not about striving for acceptance, but about living from it.

You’ll be reminded that, unlike Queen Esther’s trembling approach to her king, our access to God is never uncertain. The scepter is always raised. The Father is always running to meet us. The table is always set. And most beautifully, God rejoices over us with singing, just as Zephaniah 3:17 promises.
If you’re weary of chasing approval, this conversation will help you rest in God’s unshakable love. Listen in, and then share it with someone who needs to hear: you are not barely tolerated, you are fully embraced and deeply loved.

  • Adoption: When God Says "This One's Mine"

    Send us Fan Mail

Have you ever wrestled with words like predestination or chosen and wondered what they really mean? Far from being cold or intimidating, these truths open up the beauty of God’s eternal plan for you.

Predestination is not about fate or favoritism. It is about a loving Father who made the first move. Before time began, He secured your salvation in Christ so you could live with confidence, not uncertainty. To be chosen is to be wanted. It means God set His heart on you and wrote the last chapter of your story, glory with Him.

Through adoption, God does not just sign heavenly paperwork. In the Roman world, adoption meant every debt was erased, a new name was given, and the adoptee was publicly declared a full heir with every privilege of the family. That is what God has done for you. You no longer approach Him as a stranger begging for scraps but as a beloved child crying, “Abba, Father.”

The story of Mephibosheth paints this picture. Broken and hiding in shame, he was sought out by King David, carried to the royal table, and given a permanent seat of honor. That is what grace has done for us in Christ.

Right now, we live in the “already and not yet” of adoption. We enjoy intimate access to God, but one day we will experience the fullness when our bodies are transformed to be like Christ’s. Until then, we live as dearly loved children, walking in obedience not to earn God’s favor but because we already have it.

No matter how beaten down you feel today, remember this: you are chosen, wanted, adopted, and secure. Your place at God’s table is unshakable, and your future is brighter than you can imagine.

  • God Chose You in Christ Before the Foundation of the World

    Send us Fan Mail

You are secure, purposeful, and fully identified in Christ because God chose you before the foundation of the world. This choosing has nothing to do with your performance and everything to do with God’s eternal grace and love.

In this episode, we look at Paul’s words in Ephesians, written around AD 60–62, where he encouraged believers to rest in their identity in Christ. Grace means God always makes the first move. He gives unearned favor. Every blessing you will ever need is already deposited in your spiritual bank account in heavenly places.

To be chosen in Christ means you were selected before time began. This election isn’t individual privilege but a corporate reality. Christ is the chosen One, and those united with Him share in His choosing. Far from excluding anyone, God has reconciled the world to Himself through Christ. That means we can share the gospel with confidence, knowing the sin debt has already been paid.

Being chosen doesn’t fuel pride. It fuels responsibility. We don’t work for victory but from victory. Our security in Christ means God will never quit on us, no matter our failures.

Thank you for listening. Remember, you were chosen in Christ before time began. Live today in the joy of that security, walking holy and blameless to the praise of His glory.

  • The Spiritual Bank Account: Discovering Your Heavenly Blessings

    Send us Fan Mail

Do you ever feel like you have to work harder, pray longer, or be better before God will finally accept you? The letter to the Ephesians gives us a completely different picture. Paul tells us that God has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ. We are not trying to earn His favor. We already have it.

Ephesians is not written as a list of corrections but as a reminder of who we are. Paul calls believers “saints” and “faithful in Christ,” not because of what we have done, but because of what God has done for us. Our identity rests in Christ, not in our performance or failures.

God has already placed His riches in our account, yet so many of us live as if we are spiritually bankrupt. The truth is, we are not beggars but heirs, not empty but full. What God has secured in heaven cannot be undone by anything on earth.

This episode is about learning to live from the security we already have in Christ. When we take our eyes off the waves and fix them on Jesus, everything changes.

Share this with someone who needs a reminder that, in Christ, they are deeply loved, fully accepted, and richly blessed.

  • Living From Your Identity, Not For It

    Send us Fan Mail

Have you ever felt worn out from trying to earn God’s approval? Many of us grew up believing we had to strive harder, clean ourselves up, and prove ourselves worthy before coming to Him. But the opening verses of Ephesians turn that whole idea upside down.

Paul’s words “grace to you and peace” aren’t just a polite greeting. They’re a bold declaration of reality. Grace comes first, not as a reward for good behavior but as God’s gift to us through Christ. And from that grace flows peace, not a fragile feeling but the steady presence of Jesus Himself, who is our peace.

In this episode, we discover that God didn’t wait for us to reach up to Him. He came down to us. Our identity as saints and faithful ones isn’t something we earn through performance but something already secured by His finished work. That truth changes how we face anxiety, shame, and even our relationships with others.

We are no longer striving for acceptance but living from it. We are no longer strangers but family. And as grace and peace shape our lives, they naturally flow through us to those around us.

Grace and peace are not distant goals but present realities, gifts already given in Christ.

Share this episode with someone who needs to stop striving and start resting in the inheritance that is already theirs in Jesus.

  • You Are Not Your Past: How Grace Redefines Who You Are

    Send us Fan Mail

Have you ever struggled to see yourself the way God sees you? In this opening episode of our Ephesians series, we explore Paul’s greeting to the believers at Ephesus and uncover life-changing truths about our identity in Christ.

Paul calls ordinary Christians “saints” and “faithful in Christ Jesus,” titles that don’t depend on performance but flow from our union with Christ. Just as a bride takes her husband’s name instantly at marriage, we receive a new name and identity at salvation.

We’ll see how grace always comes before peace, why “being in Christ” means participation rather than mere imitation, and how our faithfulness rests on Christ’s faithfulness in us. If God could transform Saul the persecutor into Paul the apostle and raise up saints in a city filled with idolatry, He can do the same in your life.

This episode will help you rest in who God already says you are instead of striving to become someone you think you should be.
