  • Bonnie Mock Interview

    Become a Marketplace Hub:

Today Mike is joined by Bonnie Mock - an owner of a leadership coaching company called The Crowning. Bonnie comes from a unique background and her path, to being both a Follower of One and a marketplace hub for good works, brought her to her calling as a leadership trainer and coach. What does your path look like? How can you take a different direction to achieve your goal of being a marketplace hub for the people around you? Find out how Bonnie did it here!

[0:48] - Bonnie and the FCCI

[5:00] - Follower of One - The Bonnie Experience

[7:05] - Transformation of Bonnie’s life from her past to present

[17:05] - Building the support system you need to be the marketplace hub

[25:00] - Rewarding through good works

[27:40] - Tips on engaging your faith in the workplace

Good Works is not met with ease:

Every path is met with struggle. We struggle because we are, by design, not perfect. Bonnie gives an in-depth description of her story (so far) that provides a great example of how joy is still accomplished through our struggle. She began how we all begin, defining a goal and achieving it. Yet, our first goal usually is not the end goal that God has planned for us and our faith. Just like your job, career, or even personal goals - not every goal is perfect in its inception and we must learn to trust God and his plan in order to be open to our ever-changing world.

How can I change course if I need to?

Though Mike’s conversation with Bonnie, we learn of a very impactful story where she trusted in God to change her course and in result, her future. She shares this as a relatable experience, and in turn, provides a key in listening to God when nothing seems familiar. Follow her story above during her interview with Mike to get some great tips in how she did this, but more importantly, how you can begin to see God’s plan in your everyday life in the workplace. Nothing is without opportunity.

  • How to Demonstrate Peace at Work - Psalm 37: 7-8
How can you demonstrate peace at work? What does it mean to fret? Most translations of Psalm 37:7-8 use this word twice. How about stew? Do you ever stew over things going on at work? The Hebrew word seems to suggest cook, simmer, get hot, some could say worry or as the translations use, fret. Don't let your circumstances cause you to take matters into your own hands. Trust God and exhibit His peace. Watch Him work and He will guide you and His peace will be visible through you.

  • Commitment and Trust Work Together - Psalm 37:5

Today, Mike tells us how commitment and trust work together. In this passage, we're reminded that we need to trust the Lord, but there's almost a condition. We're told to commit first. Trust is a challenging idea. You may trust a chair to hold you, but until you commit to it and sit down, your trust isn't real. It's latent, which means present but not visible. When we commit, our trust becomes visible. When we depend on God, and we have no other options, then our trust is realized. Jesus becomes visible. How can you make Jesus visible today?

  • How to Avoid Want - Psalm 34:10

What is, not being in want? Do you wonder if you're broken? Do you know you shouldn't "want" but notice that you still do? God puts the desire for good things in us. He created us to want good things. Mike used to think of himself as the perennial "before picture." But recently, he has learned to wait for God to provide. When we ask God for good things - things He desires to give us - and we wait on Him, we will see Him work. Find good things to ask God for and wait for Him. He will encourage you about your good desires. Trust Him and wait for Him. Deliver God's grace rather than searching for it all the time and you will see your wants diminish.

  • How the Holy Spirit Testifies for Us - Romans 8:16

How does the Holy Spirit testify for us? Do others ask you about your actions or your faith? If others don't ask, it may be something in your life. God may want you to obey him in a particular way in your life. When we are led by God, God uses us. We become His children, His heirs, and the people He uses to make Himself visible. Could there be an area of your life that needs some work? If you sense God wants to work on an area in your life, work on it today. We expect you will receive some encouragement and the Holy Spirit will begin to testify with your spirit. God will put you to work. Count on it!

  • The Presence of Evil - Romans 7:21
Is God bringing people to you to talk about your faith? If not, why not? Are you practicing the 5 daily activities (Pray, Appreciate others, Know what you believe, Serve others, and Speak for Yourself)? If you are practicing these activities and still, God is not prompting others, maybe there is sin in your life you need to address. Mike talks about how evil is present with us all the time and how we might need to address sin in our lives before we get to speak with others about our faith.

  • Emory Rowland Interview

    What is your Testimony?

Like snowflakes, no one testimony is the same.  Yet, each and every testimony we give can relate to different people all over the world. In this podcast, with Emory Rowland, we learn the value of what our testimony brings to followers and non=followers alike.

Emory is an entrepreneur and business owner at Leverable.- an Atlanta based SEO company that focuses on growth through organic search optimization. He also created his own website that is called testimonyshare.com, which is a site that allows christians and non-believers to share their testimonies in meeting God. In this episode of the Follower Of One Podcast, Emory discusses how he came to build testimonyshare.com and what it means for him and his faith.

    Why Does your Testimony Matter?

Not everyone has shared their personal testimony. Some of us might not even feel like we have a testimony to share but we all have a path to God and although our walks are different for every person, they are still important. Even important to people we don’t know. Emory talks about how his website testimonyshare.com is received and used by people all over the world. These testimonies show us that no-one is out of reach if we trust in God on how to deliver them. We are blessed by every testimony that is given!

    We are Accountable:

When it comes to God, we are accountable to Him. It is up to us to break the mold and build a better relationship with not only Him but with the people we see everyday. Emory talks about keeping the line of communication open with God and not shutting it down in our day to day lives. He is always listening and we have to make the effort to talk to him and live through him with every action we take. “Your relationship with God starts now, not when you get to heaven.” Emory urges us to not wait until it is your time to begin praying for others or for yourself. We have to be the ones that understand we are not adding another thing on our plate, but instead, changing the way we do things based on our calling from God.

  • What Does it Mean to Abide in Jesus? - John 15:4-5
What does it mean to abide in Jesus? When Mike looks at the vine analogy in John 15, he makes some parallels to everything in our lives. How long do you think a branch lives off of the vine? What do you have or what can you do apart from Jesus and from resting in Him and trusting Him for everything? Let's make a difference in the lives of others because we abide in Jesus and count on Him, not ourselves, for everything.
