  • Merciful Evangelism: Showing the Love of Jesus One Meal at a Time
Can a meal be an act of evangelism? In this plenary address from the 2026 Center for Missions & Evangelism Conference, Eric Watkins makes the case that it can, and that it is a calling for the whole church. Moving from Deuteronomy 26 to Acts 6, Watkins shows that mercy ministry flows from the heart of God, and that the establishment of the diaconate was followed by "a great many of the priests" becoming obedient to the faith. From there, he asks if Jesus ate with sinners, what's stopping us? Learn more about Mid-America Reformed Seminary and support the training of pastors and evangelists: https://www.midamerica.edu/

  • 8 How to “Watch” for Jesus’ Coming - Mark 13:32–37
How should Christians watch for Christ's return? What does Jesus actually mean when He commands us to "keep watch"? In Mark 13:32–37, Jesus gives His disciples a final and repeated command concerning His Second Coming: "Keep Watch!" But this passage raises an important question: If no one knows the day or hour—not the angels, and not even the Son—what does it actually mean to be ready for Jesus' return? In this sermon, we work carefully through Mark 13:32–37, with connections to Matthew 24:32–35, 43–44, Luke 21:29–36, Romans 13:11–14, 1 Thessalonians 5:1–8, Acts 1:7, and Revelation 3:10. Rather than trying to calculate the date of Christ's return, Jesus teaches us to live in a state of constant spiritual readiness. My sermons are the fruit of nearly 30 years of pastoral ministry, biblical counseling, formal seminary training, and a lifelong passion for God's Word. Since childhood, I've been drawn to the beauty and power of expository preaching—opening Scripture verse by verse and applying it to real life. After graduating from Moody Bible Institute, I spent the next 27 years serving as a youth pastor, senior pastor, church planter, and host of the Food For Your Soul radio broadcast. Along the way, I also earned a Master of Sacred Literature and a Doctor of Religious Studies. For more content from D. Richard Ferguson, visit TreasuringGod.com. • The LORD Will Provide
The sermon explores the Christian mandate to serve God rather than mammon, using the concept of corporate onboarding to illustrate how believers are equipped for their divine calling. It argues that anxiety stems from a disturbance in the peace of Christ, which occurs when individuals focus on material needs rather than their purpose in glorifying God. By citing Isaiah 26 and Philippians 4, the message emphasizes that keeping one's mind stayed on God ensures perfect peace, as He is the rock and provider for those who trust in Him. The central exhortation is to seek first the kingdom of God, recognizing that life is more than food and clothing, and that believers are enlisted in a higher calling to live for Christ's glory.
