2026-0807 FOOD TRAVEL USA WITH ELIZABETH DOUGHERTY The TRUTH About Food and Travel Album: The TRUTH About Food & Travel 080726 Original Broadcast Date: 08/07/26
FULL SHOW RECAP:
Is that fruit actually real?
That's one of the questions Elizabeth is asking this week on Food Travel USA, and once again, the answer may be hiding in the fine print on the label.
We take a closer look at the rules that allow food companies to sell products covered with pictures and references to blueberries, even when what's actually inside may bear very little resemblance to the fruit you thought you were buying. Elizabeth's message is one you've heard from us before: turn the package around and READ THE LABEL.
There is some encouraging news on the food side too. Elizabeth caught up with Katrina Frey of Frey Vineyards, a company we've talked about and supported because their philosophy fits closely with something we've been saying for years: people deserve to know what's actually in the things they eat and drink. They talk about organic wine, what goes into conventional winemaking, and why Frey has chosen a very different way of doing it.
We also run through this week's food news, another Top 10, and some of the stories that have us wondering exactly how far the food industry thinks it can stretch the meaning of words printed on a package.
Then in Hour Two, the airlines and the Department of Transportation are fighting again, and this time it's over something every traveler should care about: knowing what your trip is really going to cost before you buy the ticket.
Airline fee transparency is back in the spotlight, with the industry pushing back against rules requiring clearer disclosure of fees. But not every airline is taking the same position, and we look at who is siding with travelers and who is fighting to keep the current system.
Then, because apparently getting passengers and their luggage from Point A to Point B without creating national news remains an unreasonable expectation, we have another edition of Airline Debacles.
We'll also count down another travel Top 10 before Elizabeth takes us somewhere completely different for this week's Destination Unknown.
It's two hours of food, travel, consumer information, a few laughs, and the kind of stories that usually leave us asking the same question:
Why didn't somebody tell us this before?
Food Travel USA. The truth about food and travel since 2010.
FOOD TRAVEL USA FAST FACTS About the Show
Using the chassis of a food and travel show, Elizabeth Dougherty has carved out her own lane in Talk Radio, covering the contamination of the food supply and the travel restrictions placed upon us by an overreaching government. The show also covers data protection, self-sufficiency and homesteading-related topics to help protect to us from this evil, corrupt system. With Elizabeth as the host, the show has a very different sound from the typical male-oriented talk radio. In combination with terrestrial stations that carry the show, we reach people who don't normally listen to politically-driven talk radio. In addition to the LIVE FEED of the show on Fridays afternoons at 5pm (ET) / 2pm (PT) we produce and distribute a dozen podcast / segments each week.
