Football America!

The NBA Playoffs are here! All we can talk about is Wemby. So what are the football equivalents? You know, the players who were so unthinkably good they changed the game. We create the master list of players, you know, the Bo Jackson's of the NFL. (Bo is obviously on the list). And where does our good friend, Aaron Rodgers fit in on this list? Dave has thoughts.

The 2026 NFL schedule is here, and it's time to admit it: this is a total scam. We knew the games months ago, and "strength of schedule" is just a guess based on a season that’s already over. Yet, here we are, reading every headline just to plan our November. If we’re going to waste our time on nonsense, let’s at least make it interesting nonsense. Let's stop the schedule-shuffling and start a much weirder conversation: What if American football played by soccer’s rules? Plus, Ethan Strauss of House of Strauss stops by to give his thoughts on storylines and why we think the way we do. Don't miss it.

What are the best uniforms in all of sports? We create the master list of all master lists. The parameters are simple: home and away. You can't just have one. You need the full set. Mike Ryan Ruiz and Pulitzer Prize Winner Amin Elhassan join the show for the ultimate Drip Drill. At the end, we crown a champion.

Dave is back from the banks of the Three Rivers. The 2026 NFL Draft is in the books. We decide who made the best pick and who made the worst. Dave then explains why he thinks Drew Allar is a flawed pick, but could be a steal under the tutelage of Mike McCarthy. Then The Count weighs in right before we chat with Pittsburgh Panthers Head Coach Pat Narduzzi. Plus, Mike Fuentes weighs in on the state of Mikes in the World, from Vrabel, Tomlin to Jackson.

Dave is back in Pittsburgh for the 2026 NFL Draft. He provides an update on the events of Thursday Night. It was a big night for Indiana, but a bigger night for Ohio State. Notre Dame, too. Can't forget the Irish. The biggest night? That belonged to Ty Simpson. Then the guys rate the best rivalries that shouldn't be rivalries. And rivalries that aren't rivalries anymore. Think USA vs USSR.

The NFL Draft is Mendoza’s world, we’re just living in it. This week, we’re bypassing the scouting reports and chatter about who will succeed and who will bust to ponder the big questions of life: Why 18 holes in golf? Why not 20 or 12? Plus, it’s hockey season so we’ve brought in the heavy hitters: Pete Blackburn and DJ Bean from What Chaos! join the show to rank the best Boston jerseys of all time and identify the NHL stars who would dominate any decade. Expect puck talk, jersey grails, and a healthy dose of Boston nostalgia.

Jonathan Zaslow is man we love. But is he a man we know? That's what we set out to do on Football America! We get into the deep conversations of life with our good friend. Starting, of course, with a consequential debate about the Vegas Omelette Bar. Is it worth the wait? Can you ever get a decent fluffy omelette at a buffet? Or is it place of disappointment? Zaslow gives us the answer. We go from there to his thoughts on fashion: Gold Jacket vs Green Jacket. Zaslow has a natural love for sports. He's the voice in our industry that we need. We're thrilled whenever his plane lands on Football America!

Who is the best #58 in history? Dave goes with Jack Lambert. But our guest Amin Elhassan goes with Derrick Thomas. We then get into the weeds with the word, bust. You can bust in a bad way. But if someone makes you a bust it means you've had a hall of fame career. This leads us to Las Vegas. Is it okay to vacation there with your kids? Or is it purely an adult zone? We finish it up with Amin ranking Tom Cruise and Will Ferrell's body of work over that of Robert De Niro. Yes, he went there. It's a wide ranging conversation with one of the top minds in sports.

Dave offers ways to improve the NFL, by stealing from other professional sports. How much better would football be if the players could fight? What about relegation and stoppage time? We also get into a deep debate about nuts. Then Dave gives Pablo Torre the James Lipton questionnaire, adapted from Bernard Pivot. What's his favorite word? What's his least favorite word? Are nuts a snack or a treat? He answers it all and then gets deep about being a true fan of sports. It's a can't miss interview with the top sports journalist in the game.

Dave offers advice to the 2026 NFL Draft class: “When the team calls you, don’t answer on the first ring... too desperate.” Then we head out to Draft Mountain and chat with the one man who sits at its peak: Daniel Jeremiah from The Move The Sticks Podcast. He chats all things draft, including fun revisionist history. He also reveals the two quarterbacks he'd pick over Patrick Mahomes. Yes, there are two.
